Garcelle Beauvais is opening up about why she really decided to walk away from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” after season 14 — and it sounds like the reunion wasn’t the actual breaking point.
While appearing on “The Julia Cunningham Show” on Radio Andy at SiriusXM, Garcelle revealed that many fans incorrectly assumed she quit during the tense reunion taping. Instead, she said the decision officially came later during a private conversation with Andy Cohen.
“He checked in on me and texted, but I really wanted to have a one-on-one with him because I respect him, and I really wanted to say it to him personally that my run has come to an end,” Garcelle explained.
The former Bravo star also shut down any speculation that she might eventually return for a future “Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip” season.
“No,” Garcelle said directly. “It’s not of interest.”
Garcelle Beauvais Says Her ‘Spirit’ Told Her It Was Time to Leave RHOBH
Garcelle also recently reflected on her exit while speaking at People Inc. Black Affinity Group’s Legacy Chat series in New York City.
The actress admitted she had no idea joining RHOBH would completely change her public profile.
“First of all, when I joined that show, I mean, obviously, I knew the show and I had friends on the show, and I knew it was popular,” Garcelle shared. “I had no idea that me being announced was going to go, like, crazy viral.”
She recalled learning she was trending on Twitter after Bravo announced her casting.
“It gave me a new audience that I didn’t have before,” she continued. “It gave me a different, in terms of brand recognition and all that, but knowing when to leave, my spirit was not … My spirit was no longer there. I couldn’t do it anymore. I just couldn’t do it.”
Garcelle also admitted she felt isolated during the reunion.
“When I was on the reunion stage, I looked around and I felt like I had no friends,” she explained.
“And if the show is based on friendships, I didn’t have any friends on that show anymore. And so it just didn’t feel right for me and my spirit just didn’t feel like that’s where I needed to be.”
Although leaving the show was difficult financially, Garcelle said choosing herself mattered more.
“You don’t leave paying jobs,” she admitted. “Once again, I had to choose me. I chose me in the marriage when I walked away. I chose me here.”
Sutton Stracke Speaks Out About Garcelle Friendship Fallout
Meanwhile, Sutton Stracke is now sharing her side of the friendship breakdown that played out after Garcelle’s exit from “RHOBH.”
During part 2 of the RHOBH season 15 reunion, Sutton admitted that losing Garcelle has been painful.
“The plain truth is this: I have lost a friend,” Sutton shared. “I hope that one day we can reconcile or at least talk.”
Andy Cohen then brought up comments Garcelle previously made during an October 2025 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live.”
According to Andy, Garcelle said she realized she “had given much more in your friendship than she got back.”
Bravo producers then aired a flashback clip from the appearance, where Garcelle said of Sutton, “Not only [did she not] have my back, she also … never took accountability for it, and that hurt my feelings a lot.”
Sutton denied intentionally hurting Garcelle and insisted she always cared deeply about her former castmate.
“I don’t know why she thinks that, to be honest,” Sutton responded. “I would have done anything for her and those boys. Anything — and she knows that.”
