Liam Obergfoll has quickly become one of the standout newcomers on season 2 of “Next Gen NYC.”
Bravo introduced the 28-year-old New York native as someone with “his eye on someone in the group,” hinting that romance could play a role in his storyline this season.
Liam may be new to reality TV, but he’s no stranger to the entertainment industry.
“Liam’s lore is crazy,” his close friend Brooks Marks said during the season premiere. “He’s gone from Nickelodeon star, to ‘Law & Order.’ Now, you’re just yourself.”
In an interview with Bravo Insider, Liam shared that his long-term goal is to make a name for himself behind the camera.
“I want to make movies and be respected in the industry,” he said. “Hopefully have a feature film in one of the big three festivals.”
Liam Obergfoll Has Built an Impressive Resume
Before joining “Next Gen NYC,” Liam appeared in Nickelodeon’s “Every Witch Way,” the TV movie “Every Witch Way: Spellbound,” and “Talia in the Kitchen.”
He also landed a guest role on “Law & Order” before shifting his focus toward writing and directing.
Outside of entertainment, Liam stays busy with an impressive list of hobbies.
“When I’m not acting, writing, directing, I’m a ski instructor [and] volunteer fireman,” he explained on the show.
During the “Next Gen NYC” After Show, he revealed he recently completed his interior firefighter certification after finishing his exterior course and proudly shared that he earned an 86 on the exam.
He also plays on three men’s hockey teams, rides horses, surfs, rides motorcycles and even collects knives.
The ‘Next Gen NYC’ Star Says Growing Up in Manhattan Was Like ‘Gossip Girl’
Liam also opened up about growing up in Manhattan, saying reality wasn’t quite as glamorous as television—although it came pretty close.
“Growing up in the city is nothing like ‘Gossip Girl.’ However, it’s everything like ‘Gossip Girl,'” he joked. “You’re in high school, going out and raging, and like yeah, there were kids who owned hotels, right?”
He explained that while his parents aren’t celebrities or Bravolebrities, they built successful careers of their own. The family also has a home in upstate New York, where his horse, Chewy, lives.
