Kandi Burruss is opening up about her divorce from Todd Tucker and revealing the one issue that nearly complicated an otherwise straightforward split.
The former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star appeared on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show, “Andy Cohen Live,” where she explained that the couple’s prenuptial agreement handled almost every aspect of their divorce, which was finalized in March.
According to Kandi, there was only one thing that required additional negotiations: their Atlanta Hawks courtside tickets.
Kandi Burruss Says Atlanta Hawks Tickets Became a Divorce Negotiation
“Against what everybody believed, at the end of the day, it was based off of everything that we agreed to in the prenup. There was only one thing that we had to go back and forth about that wasn’t already agreed to in the prenup,” Kandi said.
That one issue?
“Hawks tickets.”
Kandi admitted the dispute caught her by surprise, especially considering how smoothly everything else was resolved.
The Grammy-winning singer explained that she and Todd eventually found a compromise that worked for both of them.
“So ultimately it just ended up that he can buy half of my tickets each year until he can get his own contract for floor seats,” she said.
“But apparently, it was a big deal because there are no floor seats left to get contracts for. So who knew that it would be this crazy back and forth?”
Kandi Says She Has No Regrets About Her Marriage
Kandi previously addressed speculation surrounding the prenup during a February appearance on “Watch What Happens Live.”
At the time, she clarified that Todd was not actively contesting the agreement.
“He actually isn’t contesting it,” she said.
“They threatened to contest it. So it said that if we do not come to terms, they feel that they have a way to contest it. So I think that is the misunderstanding of the internet.”
More recently, Kandi reflected on life after the end of her marriage during an interview with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
She acknowledged that adjusting to her new normal has been a process because she and Todd spent so much of their lives working and traveling together.
“Todd and I did everything together,” she said. “We did businesses together. We traveled everywhere together.”
Despite the divorce, Kandi made it clear she looks back on the relationship positively.
“I don’t have any regrets,” she said. “I don’t have no regrets about my marriage. I feel like we had a good marriage. It was great while it was great. I don’t have any negative thing to say about my marriage or Todd, really. I just feel like it didn’t work.”
