Kandi Burruss is getting candid about life after divorce.

The former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star recently opened up about navigating single life, co-parenting with ex-husband Todd Tucker, and leaning into fun as she celebrates her milestone 50th birthday.

Kandi and Todd finalized their divorce in March after 11 years of marriage. Now, the Bravo alum says she’s staying focused on work, travel, and family while adjusting to a brand-new chapter.

Speaking to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Kandi admitted she’s still healing emotionally.

“I’m not healed,” Kandi said as she teared up during the interview.

“I don’t like to be sad. I like to live into the positive. Lean into the fun,” she continued. “With that being said, I stay busy. Because if you stay busy, then you ain’t got time to be sad.”

Kandi Burruss Says She’s Learning How to Move Through Life Solo

Kandi explained that one of the biggest adjustments after the split has been learning how to do things independently after spending years building both a marriage and businesses with Todd.

“Todd and I did everything together. We did businesses together. We traveled everywhere together,” Kandi shared.

Still, she made it clear she has no regrets about their relationship.

“I don’t have any regrets. I don’t have no regrets about my marriage,” she said. “I feel like we had a good marriage. It was great while it was great. I don’t have any negative thing to say about my marriage or Todd, really. I just feel like it didn’t work.”

Kandi also revealed she’s been pushing herself to embrace spontaneity and joy while moving forward.

“I’ve been leaning into trying to have more fun, planning more trips,” she said. “Like the other day, I booked myself a trip to just fly all the way to London just to see Cynthia Erivo in Dracula.”

The Grammy-winning songwriter has also kept herself busy professionally, including appearing on Broadway and performing her one-woman show, “I Do. I Did. I’m Done.”

The Former RHOA Star & Todd Tucker Are Still Traveling Together for Their Kids

Despite ending their marriage, Kandi revealed that she and Todd remain committed to co-parenting their two children, Ace Tucker and Blaze Tucker.

The former couple also recently celebrated school milestones together with their kids and even vacationed together over New Year’s.

“We co-parent well,” Kandi said in a video published by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on May 15.

“Whatever’s gonna make the kids happy,” she continued. “Like, they wanna, ‘Oh, why can’t we all go on a trip together?’ OK, you want both of us on the trip? We gonna figure out how to do this co-parenting thing on a trip.”

Kandi admitted that years ago she never imagined she’d feel comfortable taking family trips with an ex.

“Now I ain’t ever think I would have said, like back in the day if you would have asked me, I would have been like, ‘What?!’” she joked. “But now I’m like, OK, let’s keep it friendly.”

In addition to Ace and Blaze, Kandi also shares daughter Riley Burruss from a previous relationship.
