Things are getting messy off-screen for “The Real Housewives of Orange County “star Gina Kirschenheiter’s boyfriend, Travis Mullen. According to Us Weekly, Travis filed an emergency court request on October 29 seeking temporary sole custody of his three children with ex-wife Meghan Mullen. The latest legal filing has reignited tensions between the exes — and, in true Orange County fashion, the drama is now spilling into the public eye.

Gina Kirschenheiter’s Boyfriend Travis’ Custody Battle Turns Ugly

Travis, 40, married Meghan in 2010 and separated in 2016. The two share three children: Presley, born in 2011; Bennett, born in 2014; and Joseph, born in 2016. In his filing, Travis asked the court to revoke their joint custody arrangement, which has been in place since November 2021, and instead grant him sole legal and physical custody. He also requested that Meghan’s visits be supervised.

Travis claimed Meghan has refused to let him see one of their children since late September. “I have reached out to local police to enforce the current order, but they have not been helpful,” he said in his filing. “I am concerned for [my son’s] welfare and feel that the system has completely failed him.”

He also accused Meghan of frequently keeping their child home from school, adding that school officials warned they might involve the District Attorney if the absences continued. “This behavior has been occurring for over a year,” he said. “I need assistance from the court to ensure my son’s needs are met and that we continue to have a close, loving relationship.”

Meghan fired back the next day, filing court documents accusing Travis of using the legal system to “punish and control” her. “Travis continues to misuse the court process to get his way,” she alleged. “His filings appear intended to punish and control me, not to protect the children. Travis is using the family court system as a tool of coercive control and retaliation.”

Both Sides Push Back as the Legal Drama Continues

In her response, Meghan denied blocking contact between Travis and their children, claiming that their son simply “chose not to spend time with him.” She also accused Travis of preventing their kids from calling her during scheduled phone times and said their private family matters were being dragged into the public eye due to Travis’ Bravo appearances.

Travis denied all allegations, saying he’s only trying to protect his kids. “If [Meghan] really believed any of our children were afraid of me, why hasn’t she sought emergency orders?” he asked in his filing. “Why does she allow our two older children to come stay with me during my custodial time?”

He added, “I have never punished the children for wanting to talk to their mother, and never said they could not call her.”

Travis, who often appears on “The Real Housewives of Orange County” alongside Gina, also pushed back on Meghan’s claim that their kids were affected by his reality TV appearances.
