Mary Cosby isn’t one to talk much about her marriage — but when she does, fans listen. The “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star gave a rare and surprisingly heartfelt update about her longtime husband, Robert Cosby Sr., opening up about their relationship in a new interview.

After years of speculation about her unconventional marriage — which began after her grandmother’s dying wish that she marry Robert, her own second husband — Mary made it clear that what they share is genuine love. “We still love each other,” she told People. “I haven’t turned him off. He still cooks for the family, and he’s our rock.”
Though Robert no longer appears on camera, Mary says he continues to be her biggest support behind the scenes. “He always knows what to say, and he always knows how to say it,” she shared. “You can be married to someone and have no clue who they are even after 30 years… but I actually know him.”

Faith has always been at the center of Mary’s life — and her marriage. The Cosbys are well-known within their Pentecostal church community, a legacy that began with Mary’s grandmother, Rosemary Cosby. Mary explained that her grandmother wanted her to “take her place” after her death, calling the marriage a form of “compensation” for Robert’s lost youth.
Now, 27 years later, the couple has weathered life’s ups and downs, including challenges with their son Robert Jr.’s sobriety. “I see us just getting old together,” Mary said. “He’s just this solid piece in my life and my son’s life, and we couldn’t do it without him.”
