Steven McBee Sr. has officially learned his fate in his high-profile federal fraud case. On October 16, a judge sentenced the “McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys” patriarch to 24 months in prison and ordered to pay $4 million in restitution, just as Bravo announced major news for the hit reality series.
Steven McBee Sr. Sentencing Comes as Bravo Renews ‘The McBee Dynasty‘ for Season 3
Bravo has renewed its hit “The McBee Dynasty” for a third season, with filming set to begin ahead of Steven’s sentencing. The series — often described as if “The Righteous Gemstones” and “Succession” had a reality baby — originally debuted on Peacock before moving to Bravo for season 2, where it became a breakout hit.
Steven pleaded guilty in November 2024 to what prosecutors described as a “multi-million dollar fraud scheme involving federal crop insurance benefits he was not entitled to receive” between 2018 and 2020. According to the Department of Justice, he falsified reports for the family’s Gallatin, Missouri farm to receive subsidies and insurance payments they weren’t authorized to get.
Prosecutors had recommended 41 months in prison, three years of supervised release, and over $4 million in restitution.
Steven’s legal issues have loomed large over the show. After being front and center in season 1, he appeared only twice in season 2 as his sons — Steven Jr., Jesse, and Cole — stepped into the spotlight to keep the farm afloat.

Only 2 years?? Seems lucky
