“Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Dolores Catania and boyfriend Paul Connell casually dropped a bombshell on SiriusXM’s “Jeff Lewis Live” — their home was broken into while they were away filming, and the intruders used a blowtorch to get in.
Dolores Catania Reveals Blowtorch Break-In While They Were Filming
“Our house got broken into last week,” Dolores said, prompting Jeff Lewis to immediately ask, “What?!” Paul chimed in that the burglars used a blowtorch to heat and shatter tempered glass silently, bypassing the alarm.
The couple was in Rhode Island filming Dolores’ cameos for the new “Real Housewives of Rhode Island” when the break-in happened. Paul’s son called to alert them, and police arrived just 20 seconds after the intruders fled. Surprisingly, nothing was stolen — likely because of their intense alarm system and fast response time.
Paul explained that heating the glass is a new burglary trend, allowing thieves to get inside without triggering sensors. “They were inside the house for about a minute and something,” he said. “They were eight minutes trying to get in because they used this torch.”
Dolores warned fans about posting real-time locations online, admitting Paul posted they were in Rhode Island earlier that day. “And that night we got broken into,” she said.
Thankfully, valuables were locked away, and the couple is using the scare as a lesson. “It’s a lesson learned,” Paul added.
