Dolores Catania’s engagement era has officially arrived — and yes, she did it the RHONJ way: with an 11-carat diamond, a full-circle love story, and a proposal that somehow happened at an Apple Store. Fans have waited years for Paulie Connell to pop the question, and now the couple is finally showing off the ring (and the very on-brand backstory behind it).

“The Real Housewives of New Jerseystar and her Irish businessman fiancé revealed new details about the radiant-cut sparkler, how long Paulie had been sitting on it, and why their big moment ended up happening between Genius Bar appointments.

Dolores Catania’s 11-Carat Engagement Ring: What Paulie Got Right This Time

Paulie told People that the massive diamond from John Anthony Jewelers wasn’t even the first stone he bought for Dolores. In fact, he confessed his original pick wasnot Dolores-approved.

“If you remember, there was an episode ofRHONJwhere I said,I have the ring,’ Paulie said.Well, I didn’t have the ring, but I had bought a stone early on into dating Dolores. But then over the years, she started talking to me about what she liked, and I realized it was opposite of what I got. So I went back to the drawing board.”

The final result? An 11-carat radiant-cut diamond with princess-cut side stones on a silver band — classic Dolores.

“Go big or go home,Dolores joked.

Paulie admitted he’d actually been holding onto the ring for months, not because he was dragging his feet, but because everyone around Dolores kept getting engaged. First, ex-husband Frank Catania proposed to Brittany Mattessich. Then their son, Frankie Catania Jr., proposed to girlfriend Nicole Perricho.

“I was like,Get the f–; out of here!’ Paulie joked.Maybe no one wants me to marry Dolores!?!”

Why Paulie Proposed in an Apple Store — Yes, Really

The couple’s big moment happened exactly four years after Dolores moved in with Paulie. He wanted a proposal that felt meaningful, not staged — and that meant returning to the place where their relationship began.

“I could have proposed on a yacht in Greece,Paulie said. But that’s not who we are. We’re a humble couple. I wanted it to feel grounded and organic. And I wanted the element of surprise.”

That surprise came when he told Dolores they were stopping by the Apple Store in Woodcliff Lake to get her a new iPhone. Unbeknownst to her, the entire staff was in on the plan.

“I immediately said yes,Dolores said.It was so sincere and so thoughtful.”

And because this is RHONJ romance, when Dolores returned home, she walked into more than 1,000 roses waiting for her.

“I mean, he really hit it out of the park, she said.
