“Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Dolores Catania says her time on “The Traitors” came with an unexpected twist — and not the kind you’d expect from Peacock’s murder mystery competition. While speaking on the first full episode of the By Order of the Faithfuls podcast with Tamra Judge and Wells Adams, Catania revealed she was scammed by her stylist during filming.
Dolores Catania had $50,000 in Charges and Not a Single Outfit
Judge kicked off the conversation by asking how Catania kept her wardrobe fresh throughout the competition. “Did you run out of outfits?” Judge asked.
“No, I didn’t,” Catania replied, explaining she was working with a stylist at the time. “She would order things on my credit card and send it to me. That’s how you do it with a stylist, right? And I kept calling her like, ‘Where’s my stuff?’”
It turned out the stylist had run up roughly $50,000 in charges — and never sent her anything. “She wasn’t buying all tartan plaid,” Catania said, referring to the show’s Scottish setting. “She was buying YSL leather bags and size extra small clothing, which on my best day, I’m not.”
The $900 Sephora Charge That Raised Alarm
Catania said the scam became obvious after seeing a string of suspicious charges: “$4,000 Revolve, $2,500 VarTech, and then Sephora — $900. I don’t go to Sephora. I get beauty products sent to me every week. I have beauty products up my ass.”
While American Express eventually reimbursed her, Catania admitted it was “a fight” to get the money back. She didn’t specify what happened to the stylist afterward.
For now, the RHONJ favorite can at least add “surviving a fashion scam” to her list of off-camera plot twists.
