Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman’s divorce has drawn major attention in both Hollywood and Nashville. After 19 years of marriage, the actress and country singer confirmed they are ending their relationship. While the divorce filing provides clear details, speculation surrounding the split continues to circulate.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban Divorce Documents

Nicole, 58, filed for divorce from Keith, 57, on September 30, citing irreconcilable differences. The filing listed their official date of separation as the same day. However, the documents reveal the decision had been in motion earlier, with Nicole signing the paperwork on September 6 and Keith signing on August 29.

Court papers also spelled out a parenting plan for their two daughters, Sunday Rose (17) and Faith Margaret (14). Nicole will have the girls 306 days per year, while Keith gets 59.

Both agreed to share major decisions, skip child support, and keep things civil by not badmouthing one another. Oh, and they’re required to attend a parenting seminar within 60 days. (Yes, even celebrities get homework.)

What the Rumors Say About Nicole and Keith’s Split

While the paperwork is straightforward, the whispers around the split are anything but. People reported Nicole feels “hurt and betrayed” after trying to save the marriage, while sources close to Keith claimed the couple had already been living separately thanks to their busy schedules — she was filming “Practical Magic 2” in London, he was touring.

Others suggested Keith is “going through some stuff” and making “questionable choices,” while another insider said the breakup “wasn’t a secret” in his circle. Translation: this wasn’t an overnight implosion, more of a slow drift apart.

And then came the fan theories. A resurfaced moment from Keith’s April concert in Las Vegas showed him serenading 25-year-old country up-and-comer Maggie Baugh with his hit “The Fighter” — the very song inspired by Nicole. Months later, he even swapped out lyrics to drop her name during another performance. Maggie even shared a clip of the lyric swap on TikTok, so they clearly aren’t trying to hide anything…
