Reunions are never easy, but Zack Wickham is admitting that his first “The Valley” sit-down came with more than a few regrets. From being seated in the dreaded “last chair” to realizing he wasn’t prepared for the Bravo-style grilling, Zack opened up about what went down behind the scenes — and how the cast immediately split into camps once the cameras stopped rolling.
Zack Wickham Calls Reunion a ‘Different Beast’
Speaking with Bravo Insider, Zack admitted he underestimated what a reunion really meant. “I had asked Kristen [Doute] and Brittany [Cartwright] not to tell me how reunions go. They just told me it’s going to be a long day. Great,” he explained.
But Zack quickly realized he was in over his head. “I did not understand reunions are a different beast, I think that I made the biggest mistake by not prepping or thinking about the questions beforehand,” he confessed. “I wanted to be in the moment because I’m pretty good off the cuff. I regret that wholeheartedly.”
Zack admitted he would’ve delivered stronger points had he prepared in advance. “The way they flow, the way the questions come, the way the conversations go back and forth … it is an entirely different beast than any regular interview or conversation,” he added.
Zack Reacts to ‘Last Chair’ Seating and Divided Cast
As if being caught off guard wasn’t enough, Zack also landed in the far “last chair” seat — which fans know is often reserved for the least impactful cast members. “I was definitely salty,” he said. “I know that I’m about to give more than last-chair effort in this reunion.”
While Zack admits it took him some time to shake it off, he knows he provided plenty of reaction shots. “I could not have rolled my eyes more when Jax [Taylor] was talking, so I’m sure there’s great reaction shots from me.” He revealed that he, Kristen, Nia, and Brittany spent much of the taping making eye contact and silently reacting to the chaos.
When filming wrapped, the cast didn’t exactly ride off into the sunset together. Instead, they split into two groups: Zack, Kristen, Jesse Lally, and Luke Broderick went back to Kristen’s house, while Janet Caperna, Jason Caperna, Brittany, and Michelle Saniei joined Scheana Shay somewhere else.
“It was very much a divided thing,” Zack said, adding that opinions keep shifting as the season airs. “We’ve definitely seen things in a different light after the reunion.”
