Tamra Judge Defends Katie Ginella Amid Shannon Beador Drama

When it comes to “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” Tamra Judge is nothing if not loyal—to the show, that is. After Katie Ginella was iced out by most of the season 19 cast, the second-season Housewife suddenly seems to be finding a soft spot with Tamra. And if history has taught us anything, it’s that Tamra will always side with whatever keeps the cameras rolling.

Katie, 41, has been one of season 19’s biggest lightning rods, thanks largely to her feud with Shannon Beador, 61. The drama started when Katie learned Shannon had secretly recorded her during a meltdown at a photoshoot. Shannon swears the voice note was also played for Alexis Bellino, while Katie insists her husband was the only one who ever heard it. Either way, it sparked a feud that’s been carrying the season.

Tamra didn’t hold back when asked about the drama at Alexis’ bridal shower, telling Us Weekly: “I think she doesn’t really have a whole lot going on in her life right now. I think she doesn’t have kids at home. She doesn’t have a husband or a boyfriend. I think she’s trying to make the best of what she’s got. I think it’s a little over the top.”

She also weighed in on Shannon’s explosive New Orleans outburst, where Shannon barked at Katie, “I can’t stand you.” Tamra’s take? “The whole thing is a little bit ridiculous in my mind. Yeah, Katie did some things, and Katie repeated some things. But you’ll see how that plays out.”

Tamra even defended Katie against rumors she’s been leaking to bloggers: “I honestly have not seen Katie since the last time we filmed together, but we definitely have DMed back and forth. I know what it’s like to be an outsider with these girls and how hard it can be, and I think it’s backfiring. I think that the fans love her, and I think whenever there’s a gang up like that, it doesn’t go over well.”

And in classic Tamra fashion, she summed it up bluntly: “Did she mess up? She did. Is she a terrible person who’s a danger to society? No.”

Translation? Tamra is ready to ride with Katie—at least until she’s not.
