He’s been there a long time, and kind of overstayed his welcome. He made Gucci a lot of money with his revamp from Frida Giannini’s “look” but he kind of recycled the same over-done look constantly over the past 8 or so years.
Most creative directors of major fashion houses never stay much longer. Major exception being Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel. Tom Ford was only with Gucci for 10ish years. And Frida was there for between 8 and 10.
Fashion world is brutal.
