81. Bravo Fashion; Hot OC Tea; An OG Returns? Does the Bethenny Clause Affect Casting Decisions?

We are so excited to have Lauren from @BigBlondeHair on Instagram here this week! She’s got hot takes on our favorite Bravoleb fashion coming in hot off of Bravocon. Things are messy in the OC – and it seems that Alexis is really reaching for that orange…perhaps by dating the new Slade Smiley of Orange County. We have gotten a couple emails this week hinting that one of our all-time favorite Housewives may be coming back to Bravo. Does the Bethenny Clause (the rumored clause that goes into Bravoleb contracts saying that Bravo gets a percentage of revenue from the businesses that Bravolebs promote onscreen) have an affect on who stays and who goes when it comes to casting decisions? Carl and Lindsay from Summer House were originally scheduled to get married last weekend – before Carl called it off, of course. Who went to Mexico anyway? And B and Amanda have a rare “hard disagree” situation regarding whether Sharon, Carl’s mom should have gone – see where each of them falls on the discussion.

So you guys might remember she came on the pod with us a few months ago to talk about Bravo and fashion. Lauren does an amazing job on her account. She finds the fashions or lookalike fashions that we see on reality to stars and celebrities. And then she shares where to get them with her audience. She does not get keep. So happy to have you. Welcome back, Lauren. Thank you so much. I’m so excited to be back. Amanda and I said to each other we need to have Lauren on. After Bravo con. We were getting flooded with questions about people’s fashion. I always whenever I get a fashion question, I always direct them to your account at Big blonde hair. I’m like, I don’t know, but Lauren will definitely know. And if she doesn’t already know she’ll find it out within minutes. So I mean, we saw some really spectacular outfits. This Bravo calm. Yes, we did. I’m super excited to talk about all of this. So let’s let’s chat fashion first before we get into the gossip. So Lauren, one thing that I was kind of wondering about Bravo Con this year is Do you feel like people really like our favorite Bravo labs, they really stepped it up because it was in Vegas this year. Yeah, I think Vegas is just like a next level place where everybody gets more dressed up. So whether we’re talking about the number of looks that they were, I felt like there were so many outfit changes or the level of glam or just how fabulous all the looks were. It really was next level. It’s been so great. So one of the things I think that we even talked about this, I think B is this pantless trend that we saw on quite a few rivalries, but specifically Paige and Aaron Lishi come to mind at Bravo con, what do you think? I loved it. It was so polarizing. We got so many mean comments on the post. But I am so all about trying new things. And that is what I want to see out of my Bible loves. And I thought they both looked amazing. think Sierra Miller did it too. And there were a couple of other girls that tried it. And I really liked it. I thought it was so fun. Like, I don’t think you’re gonna wear it to your office holiday party. But in terms of what I want to see, in brava labs in Las Vegas, I loved it. I thought it was fun. And it was just something good to talk about. And just a new trend that was clearly out there that I actually really had not seen a lot of and now I feel like I’ve noticed again, everywhere, I’m noticing it everywhere too. And the other the other one that we saw a lot of was the no pants, and then the sheer skirt, which to me is more like it’s bold, but you have the sheer skirt. I mean, these girls have such amazing figures that they pulled it off good better than good. I mean wonderfully, but I do think it’s sort of unrealistic for the average gal, but as it Yes, I totally agree. Like I don’t even I probably wouldn’t even wear it in Vegas, in Vegas or anywhere. But yeah, it’s probably unrealistic for a lot of us but fun to look at when we’re talking about real housewives and Bravo webs. I would 100% And I think that too, like a lot of those looks like especially the sheer skirt like you can modify that
To be more appropriate for every day, right, so I’m seeing a lot of people do that with like, either like a slip or like a mini skirt under. So you still get that very like kind of overall sheer look. But it’s not like I can see your underwear through your skirt. You know, which, if you’re on a red carpet, awesome if you are at your company holiday party like us, doesn’t quite work, right. Yeah, I totally agree with like you said, like layering up and different ways to modify the trend or even if it’s like a sheer blouse or top with something underneath, I think there are ways to do it that are appropriate for places other than Bravo con, like you said, I do the pantsless with the sheer skirt. And then at about like 1am When I was good and drunk, I’d probably rip off the sheer skirt.
But we have to get we have to see that next year. We’ll have to have a Bravo and cocktails office party.

So speaking of Aaron lychee. And we have to get your opinion, because I feel like the new Roni ladies are bringing fashion that we’ve really as viewers only previously seen on Beverly Hills. I know other cities, some ladies have tried or in the case of like New Jersey and Salt Lake City and Potomac. They were some of these sweaters with the names across them some real some fake but Ronnie really has like real chic designer clothes that I only really remember seeing on the whole from Beverly Hills. So what are your thoughts on this? Do you like this? Do you feel like it makes the clothing less accessible for viewers and for your fan base harder to find dupes, that kind of stuff? No, I also was obsessed with Roni, we never have a new show start that people are out of the gate really interested in what they’re wearing. And it was so popular for us. And I like you said it’s not a you know, there aren’t labels plastered everywhere. But it’s true style, in my opinion. And I almost think it’s in some ways some outfits are easier to replicate, because you’re not trying to replicate something that says like Gucci across the front of it, you know, but it really depends on the piece and some other things were accessible. So I don’t think it’s as out of reach is Beverly Hills, but just they all had such good style. And I absolutely loved it also, and I just still on Instagram cannot get enough. I feel like each woman brought her own sense of style. There was something for everyone and it. I mean, it was just so good. I missing it so much right now, which I never thought I would say with all the good shows that we have on you know, for me, and I’ve said this before, I’m not, I don’t I feel like fashion you either get it or you don’t like I certainly know what I see and what I like and then I’ll get it but I’m not somebody who has an eye to like, be the first one to wear the pantless outfit.
When I’m watching. I’m saying to myself, like these girls are so put together, they look so great. And one thing that stuck out was I believe it was Erin had this whole thing on her social media about like I’m at a loss for the word of it but sustainable clothing, right? Is that what it is sustainable clothing possibly, that that is a possibility. I don’t know if I thought he is like, you know, get classic pieces. Because we live in a world where we order and I’m I order all of my clothes like Amazon like you know Express like just affordable fast fashion and her whole thing is like she was saying like I have black skirts or black. Like the classic black cocktail dress that’s like a classic piece that I then accessorize or add a different blazer like that kind of thing. And it kind of got me thinking about how I don’t know it’s nice to have these classic pieces that you kind of spend more for but keep longer on their quality. I mean I absolutely agree with it if you can do it. I still think like for a lot of people that’s not accessible and I’m like you like I love Amazon. I love a good deal. And so sometimes they go to that first but like I have just like a classic Helmut Lang blazer that I bought with I did like a actually a funny little like shopping trip with Dorito stylist in Soho, like maybe four or five years ago that I won in like a charity auction. And so she was like buy this Helmut Lang blazer it’s a splurge but you will wear it forever and sometimes it’s hard for me to like pry my wallet out of my purse. You
No, but I did it. And I still wear it all the time, five years later. So when I think of other people saying that, like you saying that, yes, that really is the key to building a good wardrobe. It’s just a matter of like, if you’re patient enough to save for something, if you don’t have the money, you know, it’s accessible to you. But I totally agree with that. In theory, that’s what everybody you know, with a great philosophy. The only thing I’ve done so far because I’m like you, it’s for clothes, it’s hard for me to pry pride out of my life.
I have started getting nice, like winter coats, because I got I hope I’m gonna say it right, because you know, McCosh Yeah. And I got it, I think two years ago. And so now I’m on my third winter and I spent, like triple what I would normally spend on a coat because I’m not a big spender for clothes. But here I am. Three seasons later still wearing it’s still in style. It’s a classic black warm winter coat. So I do think that it’s something else I’ve learned from Bravo.
We’ve learned Yeah, I agree. So Lauren, kind of back to Bravo Khan and all the fashion were there any standout fashion moments from Baba Khan that that you can think of to kind of talk to us about and describe? I mean, there were so many but like I was at the panel when bring Whitfield’s Lu batons got stuck in the escalator when she was on her right now it was like, that’s all I can think about I feel like and she is so funny and just so everything just worlds off her back and she could laugh at herself and it was just such a hilarious iconic Bravo Khan moment I don’t know if you guys saw the stuff about that like the means that everything we did I love that moment. Her cash flow is so great to when she posted about it. She’s like I broke Bravo con.

So that wasn’t necessarily one moment but definitely something that you know I think made a statement there. So one thing I have been noticing on social media and just seeing posts both from Bravo Khan and on I don’t know if you follow Shannon the door, I have noticed that she has made a pretty big change to her look, since her DUI so very kind of simple. She’s dresses, often with a bow or a bow pattern, kind of her hair is collarbone length with volume and like a small kind of curl under at the bottom. What do you think of this whole look? And do you feel like it’s a transformation for her? Yeah, I mean, I think it’s perfect for her like I think she looked amazing there. I was at one of the Watch What Happens Live or Bravo Khan live taping that she was at she really looked and sounded good. And I do think whether it’s an intentional move to just look sweeter and nicer and kind of come out on the other side of stuff or it’s just like her next era. I think it’s perfect for her and really kind of we got a really good response to what she was wearing on big blonde hair, lots of requests for the book. Everybody loved the one bow dress that she wore, and I do think it’s where she should be
Yeah, with her fashion. Yeah, I agree. I think it’s been a really good look on her. She’s not doing the like wavy hair that everyone else does. It’s this very like, I don’t want to say like, Lady but very classy look for her. And you know, people will change their looks after they go through something traumatic after they go through a breakup, whatever. And I think it’s, I feel like it’s been a really good upgrade for her. Yeah, I agree. And I feel like in Orange County, there’s like a certain style that you look at, but to me that is not really Shannon or what she should be going for. And so I think this is more just like you said, a little bit more sophisticated, a little sweet. I just think it’s a good move for Shannon and she really did look better than ever at Bravo. Con. So who do you think just on based on all the Bravo labs, whose fashion do you feel is the most accessible? Oh, let’s see, that’s a that’s a tough one. I feel like I’m trying to think of just one person because I feel like people are, you know, sprinkling affordable finds in different places. You know, I think tamaraws is pretty accessible in Orange County, for the most part, people like it, and it’s, you know, she’s not spending a ton of money on, you know, reunion gowns, even she, you know, does a good job keeping everything in check out, you know, I feel that Paige and some of the younger girls are wearing really high end stuff. But then they’re also mixing in this Amazon thing from Amazon lives. Madison Lacroix is really popular for us. And she also should wear some really expensive things, but also mostly keep it affordable. So I feel that a lot of times the girls on the younger shows, quote, unquote, although some of them are older than some of the Real Housewives
are keeping it a little more accessible. But you know, I feel like other than Beverly Hills, and really New York was pretty pricey that you can find things here and there on every show that are pretty accessible. I always I always like Dolores always wears, like cute sundresses and that sort of thing that look very pretty when they do like lunches and stuff that I don’t know where they’re from, but I feel like it’s accessible. And it’s something that the average person would wear because sometimes they wear stuff like what are your thoughts on those jumpsuits that they’re all wearing in their confessionals and some of them wear them on Watch What Happens Live where it’s like striped and then mesh Zhivago yes, that that brand, I think I will say it’s, I mean, the brand is Chicago, I don’t I we just say like deep V jumpsuit, or shoulder pad jumpsuit or whatever. But and then Alex Perry does a lot of that shoulder pads stuff too. But I think Chicago is the one you’re talking about, you know, I I have addressed by that couple dresses by them. So I really shouldn’t say anything. But I think we’re getting towards the end of that. Because we have seen I feel like every piece by that brand and every possible variation. You know, over the past it’s ongoing. I feel like it’s been like four or five years that we’ve seen it. So I think I don’t know how much of that we will be seeing, you know, moving forward because I think it’s kind of getting played out a little bit. Are they very expensive? Yeah, they’re between 500 and 1000. For the jumpsuits, I think I can’t nail exactly what the price is. But they’re not. They’re not cheap for very little on sale. Three. Yeah, on sale three, something at Saks and then full price 650 for one of those jumpsuits that you’re talking about. And who do you think off the top of your head is the most fashionable, like who hits it right every time.
I mean, I sometimes she throws a little bit but I always go to Dory like she’s changed her style a lot this season, but I still think she looks really really good. It’s a little more casual. It’s a little more dressed down it’s a little more laid back but I think she’ll always be that person and then this is totally not a real housewife but if I had to pick one person and all of Bravo that I think always gets it right it’s Tracy Tudor for Million Dollar Listing la she’s my favorite. So that’s a little you know, not what everybody would say but I cannot get enough of what she wears and she always looks great. Yeah, I’m picturing her now and I think she’s great too. I for posted many times why is this woman not on Beverly Hills because I don’t know if Million Dollar Listing is coming back. They’re certainly on quite a long hiatus at this point. But I think she would be such a great housewife and she looks like a housewife. Oh my gosh, she’s beautiful and she’s smart and hardworking and successful. I and she was I believe born and raised in Beverly Hills somewhere close to that area so she could be a really good candidate and even when she’s on Million Dollar Listing, she’s not on every episode so I feel like she should be on our screens more often. I 100% And she can get down and dirty because she does it with the Josh’s so she can
so true. So switching gears and as we talk about the shows
I’m sure we’ll work some fashion questions in here. Yeah, let’s move into housewives and just some straight up gossip, which is what we do best here at cocktails and gossip. We’ve seen a lot happening in the OSI this week. So listeners know we are recording on Tuesday. Typically, Amanda and I record on Thursdays but seeing is how Thursday is Thanksgiving, we figured we ignore our families enough for our hobby. So
it’s kind of rude to leave in the middle of Thanksgiving dinner. So we’re recording on Tuesday, and I’m texting Amanda, and I’m like, we’re kind of like this week, we’re gonna really have to figure something out. And Amanda is always like, Don’t worry, the podcast guys will be good to us.
And sure enough, in my DM is a picture of Alexis Pollino with John Jansen, who those of you live under a rock is Shannon’s most recent ex boyfriend. They are at the quiet woman, quiet woman, which is Shannon stomping ground. And it was I don’t know if it was Monday or Sunday or Saturday, but it was this week. In the photo, they are seated next to each other. And it looks like Alexis, his hand is on John’s leg.
So I mean, and they are in a group of like probably six people and the two of them are are seated seated kind of in the middle. I mean, if this is how Alexis gets her ticket to the OC I’m out I’ve never really held a very high opinion of her but this going the John Jansen route would be really scraping the bottom of the barrel in my opinion for him to
I hate this. I am behind today. I’ve been chasing my kids around. I did not know this. I agree. I’m out. Like I don’t like that. And don’t kick Shannon mo she’s down. Right. I mean, that’s terrible. Yeah. I mean, so Alexis wants back on the OSI in the absolute worst way. So I got this picture and immediately because and I say this every week, if it wasn’t for you followers, my Instagram would be super boring, because immediately someone reminds me of the TMZ article. The night that Shannon got the DWI. She was reportedly quote unquote, the TMZ article said bitching about Alexis Bellino. So I think it’s a coincidence. But here we have sources telling us Alexis is dying to get back on Ali Bravo. afterthoughts was on last week and told us that at the Bravo’s Alexis was really trying to have a moment and Andy had to be like, hey, Alexis, like stick to the script. You’re like totally hogging the whole moment. It’s Vicky’s moment. So now we have our hugged up with John who is officially the new Slade, smiling. So many people have said to me, Oh, baby, please. He’s not rich enough for her. And I agree. I don’t think he is rich enough for her. But I do think that she will do what it takes to get back on the show. But here’s where we add another layer. And Lauren, I’m happy that you haven’t seen this yet, because we’re gonna get a very organic reaction. Also in the picture is tamaraws former best friend Ricky. So listeners might remember from tamaraws wedding. Ricky was a gay friend of tamaraws, who was in her wedding party. He and Tamra had a huge falling out there was some talk although he actually on his social yesterday denied it when another count said it that he started remember a few seasons ago there was the whole Eddie is game rumor. I remember that. So at some point, Tamar thought he was involved in that rumor or behind it? Well, I don’t know if he was always good friends with tamaraws Enemy Alexis, but now they’re very good friends. So he was at the table with them at the quiet woman. So picture it Alexis is back on OC tagging along with her former tamaraws former bestie Ricky and she’s dating John Johnson. I mean, it’s sort of secures Shannon season as well. Oh my gosh, that is that is wild. i It’s so hard to tell now because I feel like they all know how to play the game to get back on the show or what everybody wants to see. That is a wild wild group. I would have not guessed that you were going to say that ever. It’s giving southern charm incestual vibes 100% and b I don’t know how this even like where this even started. But on Bravo and cocktails. We got this complaint right saying that we are so nice to John Jansen and then that are not you know, that we must one of us must be dating him which turned into me dating him. I’m getting a huge
kick out of that speculation, which is so funny. I mean, the thought makes me want to throw up in my mouth a little bit. But I find that the whole thing so funny. And I would say to whoever that person is who suggested in this twisted law
Jack that, you know, one of us must be dating him. We’re not particularly nice to him. So whoever implied that must not be listening to the pod. We have said many times, I thought he was a user. I think that he used Shannon this last season because he likes the spotlight. And he broke up with her right after. And then he got back together with her right during press for the upcoming season. I think he’s thirsty. I think he’s a loser. But it doesn’t change the fact that again, today, Shannon posted because now of course, everyone on the internet is sharing the picture of them at the quiet woman. And so Shannon post a picture of her in an elevator laughing and she says, laughing through painful times. And what bothers me about it is that we watched her Bravo, calm, blame bad things in her life for her bad decisions. And it just, at some point, you have to take accountability. Like, of course, if Alexis and John are dating, obviously, that would be hurtful to her. But at Bravo con, she said she’s not speaking to John Jansen, and implied that it was him in her life that caused her to do this, you know what I’m saying? And while he may very well be as toxic as she says, we still have to be accountable for ourselves. So that’s what bothers me about Shannon. Yeah, I mean, I feel like that’s pretty par for the course when you’re tied like Shannon, but you know, when talking about her, but I did see when she said that. And if she is, you know, like you said relying on other people for her happiness or blaming him for you know, kind of what she’s got going on now. And this is going on with Alexis, it’s going to be a whole nother thing for her. So hopefully she can kind of separate herself if there is something going on. Stay strong. Shannon. Okay. I want to talk about Atlanta, because there’s so much that even this week that has been happening and so we’ve been talking for a while about a possible total reboot. There’s been a lot of chat about what the cast will look like. Next season. A couple of days ago, we got this email. So the email is from RH Oh, a casting subject or HOA shake up. Think about Bravo con and who from Atlanta was highlighted and who wasn’t. Kenya and Trey are invited back next season. Drew already knew her fate. That’s why she backed out of Bravo con. Sonya and candy are out to Candy’s paycheck is way too much. And she’s okay with the decision. She’s excited for other opportunities. Porsche will be back to as of now Kenya Srei Porsche and for newbies Marlo is a possibility, but probably will be a friend of again, this makes sense to me. And we’re gonna get to because again, yesterday was a very busy day. So these are my thoughts before I heard what I heard yesterday. So I’m going to share my thoughts to this email and then we’ll get Lauren’s thoughts and then we’ll move on to the most recent intel about Atlanta, but it makes sense to me. We said on last pod that candy will always have a home at Bravo. I think candy is a very reasonable person who understands that her check is very hefty, and her relationship with Bravo will have ebbs and flows and will continue throughout the years. She’s certainly a value to them as she should be. I know people want Portia back and I do feel it would invigorate the show and it would make way for new women to come into the mix because she’s been gone a little bit so she could certainly pop up with some new friends kind of thing. Kenya is our trusty villain. I feel that she can blend with anyone and she always brings it. And Sheree is our OG anchor. It all makes sense. Although none of it is confirmed. Lauren, what are your thoughts on this and what changes would you like to see do you think would happen? So that all makes sense to me very much and it was wondering you know, it was funny because I’m like the the Atlanta girls like at Bravo con like you said, I’m like not everyone is here. Seems like you know what? Something’s going on Kenya. I love Kenya. She’s from Detroit. That’s where I’m originally from. I saw her in person at Bravo con. She was the most stunning human being I’ve ever seen in my whole entire life. Like she’s beautiful on TV seeing her in person. It’s like takes your breath away. She Yes. I don’t think we can live without Kenya. But she is definitely one of my favorites. I would love to see Porsche back. I just think she’s so funny. And she brings so much to the show. I think the show is mishit missing Porsche and Sheree for sure it’s been great having her back. And then like you said, some new girls would be great. Like I feel like we’re all resistant to that sometimes. Well, maybe not all of us. Some people are like calling for all new cast everywhere. But for me, I’m like, I don’t know what I’ll do without the girls that I’m used to. But having a shake up in Atlanta after last season, I don’t think would be a bad idea. Yeah, I think we’re there smoke. We say this all the time where there’s smoke, there’s fire. There’s been so much chatter sent into us about this really since I would say this summer or spring. So

And they were like, if this is true, this is a very new development. And they felt that it was unlikely because they’re like she sued Bravo. But I countered that with my zero experience working for a television network. And I said, Yes. However, the reality reckoning with Bethany, and everything that they tried to do with that article that we have said on here really didn’t do anything. If anything, readings are up and people are pushing back on it. Yeah, it would be a nice way for them to say, Yeah, we’re so bad. But look who came back. Like, you know what I’m saying? So I can almost see. And then I wake up to this email, which isn’t exactly it is or it’s not Intel. It’s somebody’s kind of explaining something. So subjects Nene. If you listen to the Carlos King podcast with Nene, he explicitly said and I did listen to this. And when I read this email, I remember this, he explicitly said that if Nene sat down with executives over a difficult lunch person wrote in parenthesis, I believe he said, tears would be shed, there would be a way back for her. So when I got this email, I posted it because I remember listening to Carlos King, who was a producer for many years on Atlanta, and who very much felt that they could make amends. We also saw a Bravo con. And he said he’ll always have love for Nene. So I do feel that it is something that can be repaired if both parties were willing to give an inch. Well, now that you said it that way, I can totally see it happening. You know, I wasn’t thinking about it, but it would make Bravo look so good. And I have always felt like I mean, obviously I don’t think Bravo and Bethany will be getting back together. But I do think I had something about it. I do think despite Nene suing them and everything that’s gone on that there could be a reconciliation between Barbara Bravo and Nene. And I absolutely agree with you. I would love it. It warms my heart just thinking about it actually. I mean same and I don’t know if I’m creating this narrative because it’s something I want so badly.
But we legitimately got these emails and I do think given the current predicament that Bravo is in, if I were Bravo, I would say this is a really good way to really drive the point home that people are on this network of their own freewill. And when
You decide to go on a reality show things happen in your life. And it’s unfortunate if it’s negative. And if we get it on tape, and if there’s fallout from that, but we don’t cause these things. We just happen to be filming them. The Good, the Bad, and The Ugly, right? Yeah. 100% I mean, if this is true, and I really, really, really hope it is. I mean, this would be a game changer. I feel like feel like Nene is really the one who could save OG Atlanta. And then if you can imagine even having her on girls trips. Oh, yeah. So good. Just last week, Amanda and I agreed and said that no, one housewife makes a show. But if there had to be an exception, I would say Nene. And not that she can not that any one housewife carries the show. People would tune back in and she she has a magic. I remember listening to Carlos. I don’t even think it’s when he had her on. I think he was just talking like when he first started his podcast about like the early days and how he had worked in reality television and how when he met Nene, and they were filming the first couple of episodes, he was just like, watching a storm born and I couldn’t agree more. So bravo, if you’re listening, we have found a way to make a match.

A holiday miracle I feel like
you know and it’s funny because I kind of I can’t say I take it personally because I don’t work. I’m not employed by Bravo but I do take it personally Bethany who profited for so long off of housewives and who continues to profit off their talent or x talent, and Leah McSweeney, who claimed she didn’t want to come back but now has an only fans with 116 That’s 116 followers, like please stop breathing blame Bravo for your inability to catapult yourself and Bethany did catapult herself. So that’s like, even more bizarre, but if you’re a failed housewife that’s not Bravo’s fault. I agree percent. Yeah, totally out everything. The Bethenny one is very hard to swallow. I love seeing what she does with be strong and all that work. And I wish she would just focus her energy that way versus this other direction. She’s decided to go in well, let’s actually talk because we got another email this week. That kind of ties in nicely to Bravo and Bethany. So how Bravo decides from season to season who stays and who gets demoted or cut completely. This email that we got I thought had a lot of interesting insight. So I want to share it subject production. The so called Bethenny clause is a thing everyone at Bravo has a clause giving Bravo a percentage of earning from other ventures for as long as they’re with Bravo. Some housewives have more ventures than others. Hence, they’re still on chose long after the audience is sick of them. It’s why certain housewives get spin offs. It keeps them under Bravo contract, some housewives have more potential than others. Candy from Real Housewives of Atlanta is a prime example. Teresa from New Jersey is iconic but very unpopular with yours. Erica from Beverly Hills was given a spin off despite having two disastrous seasons, but they have the potential to bring in money however short those opportunities are. Nene was a big earner for Bravo. And when she wasn’t, she was gone. New Jersey kept Teresa due to the sheen shine. I never know how to say that. The sheen deal Erica survived due to her Vegas show. So if certains housewives get spin offs, it’s not because of viewers wanted. It’s because keeping them under contract is more beneficial to Bravo than losing them. Don’t assume all housewives are there due to viewing figures or to popularity. But even Bravo has their limits. And there are going to be a lot less Oh geez. In a few years one seemingly indestructible housewife is next. So whenever we talk about the claws or we get anything about the claws, I get so many interesting questions from followers and listeners in regards to the claws like to me it makes sense what like Kyle cook as an example is on every spin off right? Every time they show Loverboy they’re getting a cup. It helps secure summerhouse Paige is a huge earner. So that all make sense the stuff that those are very, like obvious, mutually beneficial relationships, like giggling squat and all that the part that I don’t know is there like somebody said to me, Well, what about Million Dollar Listing? I said no, I don’t think that Bravo would like get a cut of the Josh’s they wouldn’t get a cut of their commission because it’s my guest Yeah, but when Josh writes a book they will get
get a cut of that. If Josh starts a wine brand, they would get a cut of that. Right? It’s individual right? So people negotiate that. So Kyle cooks deal may not look like what Aaron lychee errantly cheese munching the tequila, now they’re going to get a cut of that her husband is a lawyer. So I’m sure they worked out a nice deal. But in other words, it depends on each person. I also wonder, I wonder if now at this point in housewives, if the women or in the case of cow whoever a male talent goes to them and says, Hey, I have this idea. And I wonder if there’s a shark tank thing where Bravo now invests in these ideas that would make complete sense. That’s interesting. I have never thought about it in regards to whether people stay on the show or how frequently they’re featured. But I guess in some cases, that would make sense. I’m not sure though, how heavy that weighs. I guess, with all the connections you just made, though, it could be totally true, right? I guess it depends on how successful their brand is. And then what the deal is like, right? So if you’re only getting 5% of Loverboy, Loverboy doesn’t make much it’s not a great deal. But if Loverboy is taking off, and you’re getting 15%, and Kyle is liked by people, it’s not like, Listen, if Kyle did something egregious, something that quote unquote, would get canceled. Yeah, they’d have to cut ties. But you look at somebody like Andrea, this is a very good example, who clearly the audience loves. Right, and they keep Kyle, you say to yourself, What does Kyle have that Andrea doesn’t a brand that they get a percentage of? is interesting. I would agree. I that I would agree with Lauren, that maybe it’s not the prime or the only or the primary decision maker because obviously if somebody’s boring, they’re not going to keep them. Right. But if there is money in it for them, which, you know, we have been, we’ve been told and everyone kind of does our own deals. But I mean, do I mean look at Loverboy you know, it’s it really has taken off. He’s, you know, he’s on summer house, he’s on winter house, he was on traders, not that he even really talked about his brand then. But yeah, he’s, I can see there being them looking at some of this. Craig, what do you suppose is a revenue stream? Yeah. You know, Austin with his beer. I mean, it’s and the podcast right? I think I think pillows and beer the show and the podcast has done quite well as well. There’s definitely an element of it, but I don’t believe it’s the only it’s the only reason they have to work for the show as well. That’s very interesting. I have never thought about that ever. And it does make some sense. But like you said different weights to different you know, they’re not doing well on the show, then the show is gonna get less viewers but if they’re making enough money out of that absolutely makes sense. And candy is another great example. I mean, Kandi has more businesses than we can count many of which she has created the restaurants elements of her Kandi koated nights and all of that, many of which have been created while she’s on Bravo. And she’s an earner Kenya and earner with her haircare her haircare is very successful Tamra is back venna Very successful. Vanna became successful really, during after she was out, you know, in like 2020 2021. So the more I’m like, I’m literally thinking about this as we’re talking. It really does. The math is nothing but I don’t think it’s the only thing they consider, but I think it’s part of it. And I think it’s very smart business move for them. I think Teresa better write another book pretty quick. Well, I think it leaves her very vulnerable because she and deal whatever it is, I mean, it’s a very cheap clothing line. So I can’t imagine it’s that big of a deal. Yeah, I don’t know. Yeah, she doesn’t have a brand because that’s a deal with someone else’s brand. Which okay, maybe they could take a cut of that but that’s you know, if I do a partnership with liquid IV, that’s a partnership and they could cut me so it’s not the same as her creating her line of yoga pants which nobody talks about anymore. I’m just saying you know what I mean, so yeah, and especially Yeah, oh, sorry. Go ahead.

she does have a she’s got great muscular legs too, which I think is like she clearly works out. Oh my gosh, yeah, that’s
her problem. I think she’s a beautiful woman. Oh, yes. Yeah, she’s beautiful. Okay, so I want to talk about summer house because I don’t know how closely Lauren, you’ve been following this. But last weekend is what would have been Lindsay Hubbard and Carl rad keys wedding in Mexico. So back when everything went down, and Carl put out the letter saying, Hey, guys, you know, if you cancel now you can get your money back. If you want to go anyway, you can still go anyway, you’ll still have transportation to and from the airport to the resort, because we’ve already paid for it essentially. So this last weekend, we saw that an eclectic group decided to head to this Mexican resorts where the wedding was going to be because they had already booked the vacation. So Sheena and Brock and Kyle and Amanda, but I don’t know if we saw a man that see him there. But at Bravo con Sheena had said her and Brock were going and Amanda and Kyle Kyle were going it could just be that they were posting stories and she wasn’t in it. I can’t imagine she wouldn’t be there. But I didn’t see her in pictures. Maybe she didn’t want it. Or maybe these were done like later night pictures because Amanda herself says, I like to let I like to lead let Kyle stay up. I go to bed early so you can kind of do his thing, right? We haven’t heard so we’ve been getting some questions about it. But she and I had said both couples never really had a honeymoon and that they were all going to head out there. But the person that I found to be the most interesting was Karl’s mom also was there pictured many times hanging out with Sheena, what do we think? Do we think it’s weird that Carl’s mom went? No doubt. Carl’s mom deserves a vacation. I’m sure this whole ordeal has been very stressful for her her son’s been in an emotional state. I was a little surprised to see her. I don’t necessarily think it’s weird or wrong, just surprising. So now we have a couple of dueling emails what I haven’t even posted yet, but I will as of when you guys hear this. So we got an email that Lindsey and Cole had paid for his mom challenge trip. Now. I’m not sure if they paid as a couple or if they legit went half and half. I don’t know that the semantics of it. But the email said that the word is and Lindsay’s annoyed because she feels that she helped fund his mother’s trip. We’re getting into the petty net petty, petty stuff here. Then the dueling email says Carl paid for every petty of the wedding expenses himself. As soon as he called off the wedding he settled up with every vendor paid off every expense they had incurred, which is why it’s particularly irking Damn that Lindsay’s claiming to sell her ring to pay off wedding expensive
expenses, there simply aren’t any left to pay off. I’ll also add to that, that on the Nick vile podcast, Lindsay herself said that Carl is still paying his portion of the rent but he’s not staying there. She’s staying there. She doesn’t know where he’s staying. But when he needs something from the apartment, she leaves and he comes, so they don’t bump into each other. I can tell you, there’s a lot of bad blood between Carl’s mom and Lindsay. Lindsay and she spoke about it on the pot, the pot she was on feels his mom was a motivating force in splitting them up. So I think that’s probably why she’s annoyed that his mom went but sort of like throwing it in her face. I guess she takes Yeah, well, okay, so be you. And I we agree, I think very frequently, but I am gonna go hard disagree with you on this one. I think it’s super weird that she went fine. You need a vacation, take a vacation, don’t go there and shoot, you know, be there where you know, there’s going to be some other people is happening and
choosing to be on. So it just, it just screams that thirsty. First to me. But second of all, it doesn’t really say class to me, I would think that the mother of the groom, yes, she clearly could use a break, but it looks a little bit bad with him. Right? That she’s like, well, I’m still gonna go and then it also just looks like she’s she’s kind of rubbing it in Lindsay’s in Lindsay’s face just lack of class. And like, I just don’t go, I don’t get why go there that weekend, when you had the opportunity to cancel and get money back? Yeah, I kind of agree. I mean, especially since who knows? You know, I don’t know everybody’s opinion. But you know, Kyle is or Carlos kind of looked at the person that called the shots on this, obviously. So to rub it in Lindsay’s face and more. I don’t think it’s great. And what that is such an interesting group. And also, if I was going to like, party in Mexico, and somebody brought their mom, I don’t care how fun they are, I probably wouldn’t need it to happen. So I don’t know, either. If that was, if that was the best move for his mom, but who knows what’s going on with him? It’s all pretty wild. Well, and this is where we’re really going to get into the petty petty stuff. I like this new phrase that I coined How is that a thing? Betty? Or did I make it up? I think I think I think he made it up.
So here we go. Petty Betty. Yesterday, there’s Page Six, posting that Lindsey spent what would have been her wedding night with Johnny bananas, who she was on traders with who you know, Johnny, as the thirsty washed up guy from the challenge and what a headline except I was told that she called the media herself. And that while they were hanging out, and they have hooked up in the past, before she was with Carl, it was not a date. Now, we’ll be splitting hairs because the two of them drinking single, both fame hungry, taking photos together. Is it possible that they end up hooking up? Yes. Do I believe the motivation is true love? No. I think that they both like the attention and the relevance. I don’t see them dating. I definitely think this was retaliation for Sharon, Carl’s mom cheesing. In Mexico with Sheena, it may also be why we didn’t see Amanda in pictures. Like maybe she was like, You know what, I came with Kyle. But I’m not going to be on social media rubbing it in Lindsay’s face that I’m here this week. I really do think she’s trying to remain neutral and be friends with both parties. So kudos to Amanda because I think she is handling it with the most class. I think Kyle is as well. I think Kyle obviously was open about the fact that he was going but he well, he wasn’t picture so whatever. I do think that’s probably why Amanda wasn’t pictured now that we’re like having this discussion. So does anyone think this Johnny bananas thing is made to last? I mean, I agree with you on that. I think it’s probably just a little you know, maybe get a few revenge pics and move on. But I definitely agree on the Amanda thing. I think Amanda knows how to handle things with class and she probably was just trying to lay low. Yeah, I think that’s a great point. I didn’t think of that. And I think that makes a lot of sense. Okay, so switching gears. We saw this week that Dr. Nicole lost her father this week. We do not know the cause of death. But we have watched her on Real Housewives of Miami tried to navigate her complicated relationship with her dad. I want to say it was in maybe like the season preview that we saw a scene where he told her he was about to have another child as well.
Well, we is that right? We got an eye we don’t know, because we haven’t seen the episode if, and it’s going to be hard now for her to first first I want to say like condolences to you, Nicole, and I believe she has a brother and her mom and her entire family, her family, it breaks my heart and especially that she was pregnant, you know, being pregnant is your hormones are going and it’s a time that you really want to have, you know, the best emotional state because you’re growing a life. And so any time anything emotional happens to someone when they’re pregnant. It’s just very sad, sending love to her and Anthony and her mom and brother and everybody. But I don’t know, maybe he was saying like, I got a new girlfriend, maybe I should have a baby. And maybe it wasn’t really that he was happy, I hope because that would be an incredibly difficult layer. Because I’m sure that Nicole would want to be a part of that baby’s life. And here she is, son and now a second child who would be the same age and let’s just hope that that isn’t a thing, because that would be very difficult. Yeah, I definitely. Oh, go ahead. Oh, no, I was saying I was just gonna say I feel very bad for Nicole, and just that they had a complicated relationship. And you know, I feel like that and it plays out on TV. And that probably just makes things you know, a little more difficult since we know that she loved him. And it’s just like you said condolences and a tough situation all around him. So sad to see that news. So like shocking. I think it’s also hard because just because you have a complicated relationship with a parent losing a parent is losing a parent, right? Totally. We we saw OSI talk about it this season. And we’ve seen it over the course of housewives with other housewives and it makes it harder I think, I think that I was just gonna say that exact same, same thing because it’s, there’s a lot of guilt and other feelings mixed up in the grief. Yeah, so it’s just rough. Absolutely. So we’re sending Nicole our love. And speaking of Nicole, I think Nicole has incredible fashion. Oh my gosh, obsessed. I love Nicole around. She’s smart. You know, she’s incredible style. I just, I could not love her more. She’s one of my favorites. And also, despite shopping for yachts, and owning tons and tons of real estate that we’re just finding out more and more about the season. She also will shop at revolve and wear something from Amazon occasionally. I think it’s funny because when you think about style, it is so regional right like so Miami can get away with some of the like, flashy stuff that like if the New York housewives wore it, even if they were in the Hamptons, it wouldn’t translate. Oh, it makes sense. 100% like that’s my favorite. I have like stuff I like to pack for Vegas. I have Miami stuff. I have New York stuff like I find that
To be so fun and you’re absolutely right like just all the, you know, sexy looks that they were in Miami they would not work everywhere but I am so obsessed like you said Gertie, Nicola Alexia Lisa I like something about it. I just love all of it even though it’s so most of it is so not anything I could ever pull off it just it makes me happy to watch Miami and what they were I like live for it. Like Lisa and Alexia as an example are to who definitely dress sexier but it works I think because they’re in Miami. Yeah, I been you can cannot pull that stuff off very many places. And it just so it’s so works for them and I just I love it. I’m like that life is just amazing to me. I love watching it and yes very few places you could wear their clothing other than they are Yeah, lots of skin, lots of boobs, lots of color. Great accessories. They always have really cute hats which I get because it’s sunny out and we know us ladies have to watch our skin.

I think we’re gonna see some good style from NECA Yes, so far so good. i Dr. Wendy I love Wendy style. I think she’s really evolved in something she’s worn already this season I really like she did like a denim blazer and pleated skirt last episode and then the episode before it carried over. I love that she had like these Jeevan she boots on with it a Chanel bag. I thought she looks so good. I think she’s like really really stepped it up. We just posted something that she wore on Instagram that just a gown that was like so classy and chic. I think Can I really like what Candice wears a lot of the times too. Sometimes we have a harder time finding it so we don’t always post it but I really like Candice and style. She’s somebody that I thought looked really good at Bravo con too. And then Ashley is that like that youthful style? You know that floral like she has a little floral dress this season. She’s showing a lot more skin since she has gotten rid of Michael.
AD. It was new. What did she name her boobs? Wendy named hers happy and NAS and then yeah, actually named her boobs.
I forget something. Yes, I was actually gonna ask you, Lauren, what you think about that? When women get a boob job? Like, do you think a lot of them have to get things a lot more tailored so that they don’t end up looking? Maybe especially on camera? Looking heavier? I mean, I think they’re also I think it kept like somebody I’m like five foot nine. So if I had if I got one and it was like anything substantial, it would just make me look like you know, just a linebacker right. So I feel that it just it really depends on the body type or the person but that we’re so used to seeing fake boobs on The Real Housewives that I sometimes you know, you really don’t even notice it seems like unnecessary accessory at this point for a lot of franchises. I do feel like they’re also petite so that you know it. It doesn’t necessarily make them look heavier. But everything is tailored so well like you said that they’re probably doing a lot of work like that in the background or their stylists or whatever to make everything look and fit perfectly. Yes because I always think that because I’m like there’s you don’t buy clothes off the rack that have that really nipped in waist and that much more room like like they must be getting these things tailored because it looks it looks great, right? They’re still able to show off their itty bitty ways and their new as you said table stakes accessories. Their boobs.

I don’t think I never I always thought Ashley had a nice boss but they look great. I think they look great. Yeah, yeah and I think after the stuff just it just ends up happening after they watch themselves on TV for so long and they kind of convince themselves she does look right you know both ways.
