I’m in the industry. There’s been buzz that Carl is opening a Non-Alc bar in Brooklyn. That NonAlc store he mentions (Boisson) has closed up shop so he def wasn’t working w them.

A non alc store closing up isn’t a good sign that his non alc bar will do well. And a non alc bar is just…a restaurant. I don’t really get it and think the risk outweighs the reward. I go to plenty of cafes etc that sell no alcohol. It’s not that innovative IMO
All for people choosing a sober life however I don’t see a non alc bar doing well ever
This is why Lindsay wasn’t excited for him to choose a money pit of an investment
Lindsay was right to question this. A brick and mortar business is a lot of money to get started and the hospitality sector has a 90% failure rate. I don’t see this idea panning out and then you’re stuck with a lease for many years which will probably lead to bankruptcy.
A non alcoholic bar in Brooklyn could work, there’s enough sober relatively young people wanting that kind of option. My doubts are just that Carl has never done anything like this and it’s a risky move for anyone, let alone someone without experience and without a ton of money as a bar will likely not be profitable for a good while after opening. I mean like go for it, mazel, but we’ll see 🤷♀️
Unfortunately I don’t see that working
