Sutton Stracke is celebrating a major milestone in her son’s life — and it’s one she never expected.

During a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s “Radio Andy,” the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star revealed that her son, Philip Stracke, plans to attend seminary after graduating from The Citadel in South Carolina with the goal of becoming a Catholic priest.

Sutton admitted the announcement caught her by surprise, but she supports Philip as he begins the next chapter of his life.

Sutton Stracke Opens Up About Philip’s Priesthood Plans

Speaking on “Radio Andy,” Sutton explained that Philip recently shared his decision to pursue the priesthood.

“I cried when he told me. It was such a big decision,” she said. “You’re in seminary school for six years, and then you become a deacon of the church, and then you join the priesthood.”

Despite the years of study ahead, Sutton said Philip has remained optimistic about the process.

“He’s like, ‘If it doesn’t work out, I can leave,’ which I thought was a good positive outlook on it because you learn a lot in seminary,” she said.

Philip’s plans mark another unexpected turn in his career path.

On a 2022 episode of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” Sutton revealed that her son originally wanted to join the Army because he felt he had grown up “too comfortable.”

“You know, he lives a nice life,” Sutton said at the time. “I said, ‘Oh, well, I’ll make you uncomfortable then.’ I sent him to Georgia when it was gonna be 105 degrees with 100 percent humidity. I made him get a job. He had to be there at 5:30 in the morning to deliver vending machine Cokes and stuff.”

She said the experience changed his perspective.

“A month later, when I picked him up, he wanted to go to college,” Sutton recalled.

After Philip decided to attend The Citadel, Sutton joked that they had both gotten what they wanted.

While Philip prepares for seminary, Sutton has also been making moves of her own.

It was recently reported that the Bravo star has listed her Bel Air home for $8.9 million.

“Million Dollar Listing: Los Angeles” alum Josh Flagg is handling the listing and shared details about the property on June 11.

According to Flagg, the estate features a “championship tennis court, more than an acre of impeccably landscaped grounds, and exceptional privacy.”
