Taylor Frankie Paul received some positive news in her ongoing custody case with ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen.
According to TMZ, during a June 1 court hearing, a judge approved a new custody arrangement for the former couple’s 2-year-old son, Ever. The updated order gives Taylor more parenting time and removes the requirement that her visits be supervised.
The latest development marks another chapter in the highly publicized legal battle between the “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” stars, which has played out both in court and in the public eye over the last several months.
Judge Lifts Supervised Visits for Taylor Frankie Paul and Expands Parenting Time
During Monday’s hearing, the judge ruled that Taylor will no longer be required to have supervised visits with Ever.
The updated arrangement grants Taylor custody on the same midweek day each week without overnight stays, as well as alternating weekends with her son.
While the ruling expands Taylor’s access to Ever, Dakota will continue to serve as the custodial parent during holidays under the court-approved arrangement.
The judge also issued a directive aimed at reducing public conflict between the former couple.
The judge also ordered Taylor and Dakota not to make negative comments about each other in public, including on social media.
The ruling comes after months of legal disputes between the former couple, which have played out alongside their roles on Hulu’s “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.”
The ‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Star’s Legal Battle Continues
The custody battle began earlier this year after Taylor and Dakota made allegations against one another following separate incidents in February that were investigated by Utah police.
As those investigations unfolded, Dakota sought a protective order against Taylor. Several weeks later, Taylor filed for a protective order against Dakota.
At an April 30 court hearing, both protective orders were granted for a period of three years.
Prior to that hearing, the court awarded Dakota custody of Ever and limited Taylor’s visitation to up to eight supervised hours per week. The supervision was required to be provided either by a paid supervisor or someone approved by the guardian ad litem.
The court maintained that arrangement at the April hearing before modifying it this week.
Over the course of the legal proceedings, Taylor accused Dakota of stalking and alleged that he slammed her head into the dashboard of his truck during one incident. Dakota, meanwhile, submitted photographs that he said showed scratches and other injuries he allegedly sustained during altercations involving Taylor.
The allegations remain part of the broader legal dispute between the former couple.
Custody Drama Impacted ‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Production
The ongoing court battle has also affected production on “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.”
According to People, filming on season 5 temporarily paused in March while the legal situation unfolded. Sources told the outlet that several cast members were unwilling to film with Taylor during that period.
Production later resumed. The outlet confirmed in April that work on the Hulu reality series was moving forward again.
In May, however, a source told the outlet that filming was largely limited to new confessionals for the upcoming season.
