Whitner Slagsvol quite literally made a splash in his debut as a new cast member on “Southern Charm” season 11.
Viewers met Whit when he joined Shep Rose and Austen Kroll for a surfing session in Episode 2, and he wasted zero time showing off his sense of humor — or chiming in on the messy romance swirling around Craig Conover and Salley Carson.
Referencing Craig’s recent breakup, self-described “single friend” Whit kicked things off with, “Best way to get over somebody is to…” before letting Shep and Austen finish the sentence over post-surf drinks. Subtle? Not exactly. Effective? Absolutely.
Who Is Whitner Slagsvol From “Southern Charm”?
According to BravoTV.com, Whitner is “a handsome lawyer, a long-standing friend of Shep’s, and a former law school mate of Craig’s,” adding that he has a knack for mediating group conflict “like an old pro.”
Shep explained in a confessional, “I’ve known Whitner for probably 10 years. We’re both fond of outdoor activities. His family’s from Columbia; my dad’s family’s right down the road in Camden… so, we have lots in common.”
Whit also shared that his family’s South Carolina roots go all the way back to the Revolutionary War.
“We have some big-ish names,” he teased. “Shep will tell you about all of his — whether or not you’re listening.”
He quickly pointed out another difference between them.
“I don’t have a trust fund,” Whit joked, adding that he actually has a job and has to work.
Naturally, he couldn’t resist throwing a little shade Craig’s way either.
“We took the bar exam together. He was two years ahead of me. I passed it first,” Whit told producers.
Craig later clarified, “Whit and I went to the same law school. I think he was two years behind me, so we didn’t really hang out a lot. But his sister and I knew each other well.” A flashback clip even showed Craig bringing Whit’s sister Sarah as his date to an event in 2017.
The ‘Southern Charm’ Newbie Has a Successful Career
After earning a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in film from the College of Charleston in 2012, Whit received his Juris Doctor from Charleston School of Law in 2015, according to his LinkedIn.
In July 2017, he founded Slagsvol Law Firm, a boutique corporate, entertainment law, and civil litigation practice focused on building personal client relationships.
In his professional bio, Whit describes himself as “personable, outgoing, ambitious, goal-oriented,” adding that he’s an avid outdoorsman and licensed attorney in South Carolina.
Outside the courtroom, Whit teamed up with friend Dylan Roukous in late 2020 to launch Block+Ink, a clothing brand specializing in block-printed men’s and women’s shirts made with natural materials and hand-tailored designs.
Whitner Slagsvol’s Life Off Camera
On Instagram, Whit shares glimpses of his family life and his love of the outdoors, from swimming to hunting — usually with his dogs in tow.
He’s the proud owner of a 12-year-old spaniel mix named Bacchus, aka “the Wündēr Dog.” In July 2025, he also introduced Artemis, “the new boss of the household.”
With a law degree, a clothing line, and a front-row seat to Charleston’s favorite Bravo gossip, Whit is already proving he’s more than just another pretty face — and Season 11 looks ready to let him cook.
