Shep Rose is officially calling it quits on his bachelor-pad era — at least that’s what he’s telling fans. The longtime “Southern Charm” star is showing off his new South Carolina home, a converted 1920s schoolhouse on Sullivan’s Island, and insisting this move signals a more mature chapter of his life. Yes, really. According to Shep, the party days are winding down and the “grown-up” lifestyle is moving in.

‘Southern Charm’ Star Shep Rose Says New Home Marks a Major Life Shift

After years of bouncing between a downtown Charleston bachelor pad and his famously laid-back Isle of Palms beach house, Shep has landed what castmates reportedly call his “perfect match.” The four-bedroom, four-bathroom, 3,000-square-foot home was purchased in June, just as cameras began rolling for “Southern Charm” season 11, which premiered Nov. 19.

Speaking to Realtor.com ahead of the new season, Shep admitted the decision was about more than just upgrading his square footage. “That’s part of the move, honestly,” he said. “I adore my old house on Isle of Palms. I had so much fun there, but it is almost like it’s time to upgrade.”

For Shep, investing in a nicer home also meant investing in himself. “It’s time to get a little bit nicer stuff,” he explained. “When you invest in a home and nice furniture, it incentivizes you to be a grown-up and to treat things better and be more mindful.”

And yes, he knows what fans are thinking. Addressing his long-running habit of falling asleep on the couch, Shep joked, “I definitely sleep in my bed now, you’ll be happy to know.”

That said, the past isn’t fully in the rearview. Shep still owns his Isle of Palms house — lovingly known as the “Shep Shack” — which he’s turned into a short-term rental. It’s also where he’ll be staying while renovations on the Sullivan’s Island property get underway.

“It’s sort of good news, bad news,” he said. “The bad news part… is I’m going to be staying at my Isle of Palms house, basically taking rental income out of my own pocket.”

For now, Shep is flying solo. His dog, Little Craig, is spending time with Shep’s parents in the mountains of North Carolina while construction ramps up and summer heat lingers. “It’s so hot here in the summer that he really struggles,” Shep explained, adding that dog-friendly upgrades are already planned.

Friends and castmates immediately saw the vision. Whitney Sudler-Smith reportedly told him, “You got to get this house. This is you,” while Craig Conover put it even more bluntly. “This is better,” Craig told him — and Shep agrees.
