Mercedeh “MJ” Javid is officially entering a new era — and it’s playing out on camera. Five years after “Shahs of Sunset” ended, MJ has returned to Bravo in the new spinoff “The Valley: Persian Style,” where she’s once again filming alongside fellow OGs Reza Farahan and Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi.

But while fans may have been expecting laughs, luxury, and chaos in the suburbs, MJ’s storyline is hitting closer to home. The reality star is navigating the breakdown of her marriage to Tommy Feight — and she’s getting honest about how bad things were behind the scenes.

MJ Says Her Marriage With Tommy Feight Was ‘So Volatile’

MJ told DECIDER that her relationship with Tommy had become increasingly unstable, even during normal day-to-day conversations.

“I felt like we were so volatile,” she said. “Any conversation could turn into an argument. It was really like little things.”

In the show, MJ and Tommy are shown attempting to fix their marriage with the promise of 17 date nights in 2025. Still, MJ also opens up to those close to her about feeling unsafe in the relationship and disliking the way Tommy speaks to her — and about her.

After seven years of marriage and one child together, MJ officially filed for divorce in October 2025.

MJ explained that she and Tommy have had a better relationship since separating, but seeing old footage has been emotionally rough — especially because the scenes were filmed relatively recently.

She said she and Tommy “get along much better” now that they are separated, but watching the season back has been “difficult,” particularly since it was filmed just “six months ago.”

“I’m watching us during a time that even I didn’t think that we were going to separate,” MJ added. “I thought that we were working things out… I would probably feel really weird if we were still together with all of this butting heads, we’ll call it. It’s hard.”

New episodes of “The Valley: Persian Style” air Thursdays on Bravo.
