Chris Noth just kicked off 2026 with gym energy — and a little unexpected “Sex and the City” drama on Instagram. The actor, best known as Mr. Big, made waves after responding to a fan who took a pointed swipe at his longtime co-star, Sarah Jessica Parker, in the comments.
Chris’ reaction was short, sharp, and instantly noticed by “SATC” fans who couldn’t believe he’d publicly co-sign shade aimed at Carrie Bradshaw herself.
Chris Noth Reacts to Sarah Jessica Parker Dig in Instagram Comments
Last week, Chris posted a gym selfie to mark the new year and fired off a motivational caption: “F&@k new years – LETS GO!!!!”
The post came shortly after Sarah received the Golden Globes’ Carol Burnett Award honoring “outstanding contributions to television” during the “Golden Eve” ceremony on January 6 in Los Angeles. While several “SATC” co-stars attended to celebrate her — including Kristin Davis, David Eigenberg, and Evan Handler — Chris was not there.
That absence seemed to inspire one commenter, who wrote: “You mean fcuk sjp & her award right? lol.”
Chris responded with a single word: “Right.”
Fans quickly jumped in, with some praising Chris and criticizing Sarah. One commenter wrote, “Sarah Jessica Parker is only worried about her image… Without Mr. big Carrie would have been boring.” Another said they were “surprised that you weren’t mentioned” at the award ceremony and added, “It’s not like they can erase you.”
Chris Noth’s History With ‘Sex and the City’ and ‘And Just Like That…’
Chris portrayed Mr. Big throughout all six seasons of HBO’s “Sex and the City” and both feature films. His involvement with the revival “And Just Like That…” was limited after Mr. Big was killed off in the premiere episode.
After the revival debuted, Chris was accused of sexual assault by two women, allegations he denied. Reports later claimed scenes featuring Mr. Big were removed from the season 1 finale ahead of its 2022 broadcast.
Chris’ “Right” comment is especially surprising because he previously appeared supportive of Sarah. In a 2021 interview with The Guardian, he defended her amid ongoing reports of behind-the-scenes tension between Sarah and Kim Cattrall.
“I do know that I’m very close with SJ and [Cattrall’s] descriptions of her don’t even come close,” he said at the time. “I feel very protective of her and I was not happy about that.”
Now, fans are questioning what changed — or if Chris was just matching the vibe of the comment section a little too casually.
