Things just got very real for The Real Housewives of Potomac” stars Wendy and Eddie Osefo. The couple suffered a legal setback this week after a judge ruled they must turn over nearly a decade’s worth of financial records as part of an ongoing insurance fraud case tied to a reported home burglary. Despite their legal team’s strong pushback, the court ultimately sided with the state of Maryland.

Wendy and Eddie Osefo Ordered to Hand Over Financial Records

Following a hearing on Friday, a Carroll County judge ruled that Wendy and Eddie must submit eight years of financial documents to investigators. According to a Dec. 19 report from The Baltimore Sun, authorities believe the couple may have lied about an April 2024 burglary at their home in order to collect roughly $450,000 in insurance claims.

During the hearing, attorneys for the Osefos argued that the request for financial records was excessive. Wendy and Eddie’s legal team reportedly called the request an “annoyance,” “overbroad,” and “superfluous.” The judge clearly disagreed and ruled in favor of the state.

Adding some boots-on-the-ground tea and, frankly, doing God’s work, the crew at the “What Else Is Going On” podcast shared live updates from the courtroom, noting that the ruling was a significant win for prosecutors and a tough blow for the RHOP couple.

Wendy and Eddie Osefo, for their part, have suggested that the original burglary investigation wasn’t handled properly. Their attorney, Jeremy Eldridge, made it clear they aren’t backing down.

“We look forward to going to trial,” Eldridge said following the hearing.

The timing is less than ideal, as Wendy’s personal life is already playing out on screen. “The Real Housewives of Potomac” season 10 airs Sundays at 8/7c.
