“The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Mary Cosby’s 23-year-old son, Robert Cosby Jr., has officially pled guilty to eight charges following a string of arrests and domestic-related incidents — and he won’t be leaving jail anytime soon.

Robert entered his plea in Salt Lake County District Court on November 25, just one day after his estranged wife, Alexiana Arian Smokoff, filed for divorce. People confirmed the legal update on December 3, marking yet another twist in what has quickly become one of the franchise’s darkest off-camera storylines.

Robert Cosby Jr. Pleads Guilty as Divorce Drama Intensifies

The charges Robert pled guilty to are extensive and serious. They include one count of felony property damage over $5,000, two counts of violating a protective order obtained by Alexiana, one count of assault on a peace officer, one count of violating a jail-release order, two counts of criminal trespass with intent to cause fear or annoyance, and one count of misdemeanor assault.

The remaining six charges were dismissed with prejudice, meaning they cannot be refiled.

Fans will remember that Robert was first arrested in September after allegedly crawling through a dog door to enter his father-in-law’s home — and allegedly attacking the man outside. Months later, Robert was back at the same home, where Alexiana had been living, and was accused of vandalizing the property and allegedly biting a police officer during an attempted arrest.

A taser was finally used to bring [Robert Jr.] under control,” the indictment read — which is definitely not the kind of storyline Mary was hoping to see in season six.

Alexiana’s divorce filing came with strict guidelines: neither party is allowed to harass, intimidate, or disturb the other “by any means,” and they are barred from committing domestic violence, misusing the other’s identity, or interfering with services like utilities or phone accounts.

Robert’s attorney, Clayton Simms, told the outlet that his client struggled with the split because of his religious upbringing.

“To him, marriage is sacred and forever,” Simms said. “Robert was slow to recognize and accept his marriage was over… but he has accepted responsibility for his mistakes.”

Robert is scheduled to appear in court again on February 3, 2026, when a judge will determine whether he remains in custody or is released.

Season six of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
