Miranda McWhorter almost shot her shot — but thanks to a little confidence (and misinformation) from Whitney Leavitt, the star of “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” came dangerously close to sliding into the DMs of someone who was very much taken: Dylan Efron. Yes, that Dylan Efron — the “adorable” younger brother of Zac Efron, current “Dancing With the Stars” standout, and reigning champion of “The Traitors.”
During her appearance on Lala Kent’s podcast “Untraditionally Lala,” Miranda admitted that while filming, she and her castmates were crafting the perfect DM — after Whitney insisted Dylan was single.
Dylan Efron’s Relationship Status Shut Down Miranda McWhorter’s DM Plan
“When we were filming not too long ago and Whitney was telling us all about “Dancing With the Stars”… we were speculating if Dylan Efron was single or not,” Miranda shared. Naturally, that curiosity turned into a group brainstorming session — because what else do reality stars do in their downtime?
Then Jessi Draper ended the fantasy.
“Jessi was like, ‘He’s definitely not single,’” Miranda said. “I was like, backspace, backspace, backspace. I’m so glad I didn’t send that. That would have been bad.”
Miranda admitted she fell for Dylan’s “sweet” and “adorable” vibe — a major departure from her usual type. And honestly? Same, girl. America is collectively enchanted with Dylan’s golden retriever energy right now.
As Jessi correctly pointed out, Dylan has been in a long-term relationship with Courtney King. But the adjustment to Dylan’s new reality TV fame hasn’t been easy. On “The Viall Files” podcast, Dylan said, “I would be lying if [I said] “Dancing With the Stars” wasn’t tough, but I think it’s tougher on Courtney than me.” Between five-hour rehearsals and constant exhaustion — “my brain’s mush, my body hurts,” he said — their relationship has felt the strain.
Meanwhile, Miranda is back on-screen and ready to talk. After sitting out season one, she returns in season two of “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” — now streaming on Hulu — and she’s finally sharing her side of the viral friendship fallout with Taylor Paul.
“Taylor’s a very vocal person and everybody has heard her side of the scandal. But I’m finally here to tell mine,” Miranda says in the season two premiere.
Miranda shares two children, Brooks Wesley and Cohen Roo, with her ex-husband, Chase McWhorter. The pair married in 2017 and finalized their divorce in 2024.
