Reality star Steve McBee Sr. is paying the price — literally. The “McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys” patriarch, who was sentenced to federal prison after pleading guilty to insurance fraud, has started turning over his assets, including a few flashy timepieces, to help pay off his massive $4 million restitution bill.
Steve McBee Sr. Hands Over Rolex and TAG Heuer Watches Before Prison
According to Us Weekly, Steve was ordered to make an immediate lump-sum payment of the full $4 million owed to the court. Since that wasn’t exactly pocket change, prosecutors agreed to let him hand over several luxury watches to start covering the balance. The filing lists a Rolex Two-Tone Daytona, a TAG Heuer Formula 1, and a TAG Heuer Grand Carrera Automatic among the items turned in.
Prosecutors requested permission to officially seize the watches and sell them at public auction, a motion the judge approved. The proceeds will go toward Steve’s court-ordered fine.
Steve, who was accused of acquiring millions in insurance fraud, pled guilty earlier this year and was sentenced to two years in prison, followed by two years of supervised release. He was initially facing up to 30 years behind bars — so while the outcome is serious, it could have been much worse. Officials recommended that Steve serve his time at a minimum-security federal prison in South Dakota.
For now, he’s trying to enjoy what time he has left before reporting to prison on December 1. The cattle rancher has been sharing updates on social media, spending time with his dogs and family, and thanking fans for their support. “The number of messages I have received touches my heart beyond measure that words could express,” he wrote.
