Mary Cosby got candid about her son Robert Cosby Jr.’s battle with sobriety while also stirring up plenty of “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” drama during a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s Reality Checked with Dorinda Medley and Kiki Monique.

The 52-year-old reality star revealed that Robert Jr. is doing “good” but admitted his recovery journey has been far from easy.
“You can’t do it if your mind’s not made up,” Mary explained. “I can just only push him, encourage him, and love him. And that’s what I’m doing. But he’s still on that road, and it’s a hardcore road.”
She added that watching her son struggle has been especially tough on her husband, Robert Cosby Sr., noting, “His dad is most of the time devastated. But at the same time, I have hope and I believe in him.”
And because it wouldn’t be Mary without some shade, she also spilled about welcoming the RHOSLC cast into her church this season — with one glaring exception.
“I didn’t invite Britani Bateman. I told her, ‘You’re not allowed,’” Mary revealed, explaining she didn’t want someone sitting in her congregation who didn’t share her beliefs. “It would’ve felt fake.”
Mary also singled out Angie Katsanevas for being disruptive during the service. “She was just looking at everyone speaking, talking to everyone, talking while I’m talking,” Mary said, calling Angie a “little busy body.”
Still, Mary insisted the moment marked a breakthrough with the rest of the women. “They all cried, all of them except Angie,” she teased.
“The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” season six premieres Tuesday, September 16, at 8/7c on Bravo.
