The holidays didn’t slow down the gossip. We kick the show off with three exclusives. 1. Some intel on what might actually have caused Ally Zarin’s breakup with her fiancee. 2. Is the Brownstone of Real Housewives of New Jersey allegedly facing financial woes? 3. Crystal Minkoff allegedly has an “anonymous” Reddit – is she using it to promote her podcast? There’s a lot to unpack with Southern Charm. Who’s lying, Craig or JT? Is Paige getting a weird edit? And then we deep dive on the Blake Lively/Justin Baldoni drama coming out of Blake Lively’s legal complaint last week. There are some shocking details we didn’t know about.
Welcome to cocktails and gossip, the podcast where we drink cocktails, but you better believe we’re going to spill the tape. We chat reality TV celebrity blinds and the hottest tea from Bravo and cocktails.com and as always, it’s all alleged. And just for fun, we do not verify our blinds. I’m B and I’m Amanda. Let’s get into this week’s tea.
What’s up? Cocktail ers, hello, Amanda, hello. B Hi. Cocktail ers, happy. Hanuk, merry, Christmas. Merry, all of the other things that you guys all might be celebrating this week, we made it I am full of sodium and sulfates from wine. Like, I feel like, what did you serve yesterday? Oh my gosh, what didn’t I serve? So I have, we had about 30 people, and I think I’ve said this before, I cater now, because I cook, I know how to cook. I can make it all, but I don’t really find joy in that when it’s so many people, that’s a lot of people we do. So we do filet mignon, and my husband and my cousins grill it, and so like that we make but I catered, obviously anti past. I did stuff mushrooms, Pena yellow vodka for the kids, meatballs for the kids, eggplant Rollatini, potato croquettes to go with the steak, steak and salad and string beans and potatoes. And I know I’m missing some stuff, but like just so we basically do anti pasta, and then we do a pasta, eggplant meatball course. And then we do a meat some sort of potato, vegetable salad course. And then every dessert from every Italian and Greek bakery in New York. Amazing. And so what time do people start coming over on Christmas day for you? So Christmas Eve, we do at my brother’s, and that’s a nighttime thing. And we do the Seven Fishes, and my brother really cooks a lot of it. God bless. And then Christmas we do about three perfect people usually leave 738 but then there’s always a couple of cousins who stay and I drink wine with and I regret in the morning at the time, just the wine, just the wine, because I should just switch to water at that point. But I don’t what a juicer we do Christmas eve dinner and I.
Did a prime rib roast, and I did an a gratin potato that this one, I actually you. I tried a different one where you actually boil the potatoes and not boil you, simmer them in milk before you, instead of just car boiling them, like some recipes call for so, like, super creamy. That was, you’re posting this recipe because I’m okay, I will. I just, I had, I combined two recipes, which was driving my husband crazy, because he was like, wait, because he was trying to help me. Wait, which one are we going off? I’m like, just, let me just, please, just chop and whatever. I’ll handle that part. It like, in the sweetest of ways. I think he was like, wait, you have two recipes and you’re just, I’m like, Yes, I am. So yes, I will post whatever I think I ended up combining I do just like a nice winter salad. And just keep it simple, because it was just our close family. Well, potato or gratin is very labor intensive. Yes, I’ve never made it. But one year, my husband asked my mother in law, he she was like, oh, what kind of potato, whatever. Because I’ve only catered the last couple of years, just because it’s easier. There’s so many kids and whatever. Back when we did it, she came in and she was like, never asked me to make this job that it took hours because you have to man down the end. Don’t forget, when you have 30 people, you’re not making one little, one little try. You’re making, yeah, yeah, it’s so true. So it was good. And I did chocolate my sister also does, which was, Oh guys, chocolate soup. Ladies are not that hard. They really are not. You have to. I don’t bake, like I do Christmas cookies and like simple stuff. But I, yeah, I’m not even doing Christmas cookies this year, and I love doing it with the kids, but two of my kids were sick, so I’m like, I don’t I was waiting for one to get better than the other got sick, and then it was Christmas Eve, and there was no time. So we did it, and it was such a mess. And I’m really not great I’m not a great baker, like, I’m just not I can cook, but baking, you know what it is. It’s like the exact ness of it, the precise, yes, the chemistry. I’m not. I’m more of a little bit of this, little bit of that. And that doesn’t go when you’re making Can I completely identify with that? Because I am the same, the exact same, and for some reason, I can’t seem to make it out. Is, don’t know why. I can bake a lot of fish use out of the box, they always just turn out really crappy and like, do I need to get a specific brownie pan? I don’t know why, but anything else cocktails can help us with this. I feel like I just do the Duncan Hines when me too, or the Ghiradelli mix is usually the one I use. But I mean, y’all, many have tried, all have failed to help me with my brownie quests.
So bring it on. I hope you can help me.
Some things aren’t meant, it’s true, and everyone seems okay with that, because I’m gonna make a lot of other things. So yeah, are you we also we just chilled and watched football and have not cleaned up a thing in the living room. So the living room still looks like it did at 9am after all of the presents were wrapped, because we just like by that, by the time everything hits, I am so exhausted. So we just watched, we watched the Beyonce halftime. I don’t know if you got a chance to watch that. You’re probably hosting. I did. I was hosting. It was odd. In the background, she looked gorgeous. I didn’t pay a ton of attention because I was hosting. See, the good thing about hosting Christmas Day is you have to clean up that stuff. But the bad thing is that, like I said, and now all my kids stuff is, I just came down to the basement, and in my husband’s office, it’s like, all their stuff. And I’m like, and I have to pack today, because we’re going to Florida tomorrow. Yeah, and I got my kids, like, some T shirts, and because from August to December, they own, and I’m like, oh gosh, how am I? But I’m just gonna, and then we I’m excited for our zoom tonight, cool. It’ll be good. So I feel like, between when we finish this and 6pm I need to be packed, and my house needs to be like Spanish, and then you can relax, have a glass of wine on the Zoom and get ready 200%
I might get lit on this zoom because I really haven’t, because it’s always weekdays and somebody’s having to drive somewhere, yeah, yes, like tonight, my only responsibility is to wake up in time to be at The airport tomorrow, once I’m done with all my packing and everything, yeah, yeah, that’ll be good. Yeah, I’d be curious to hear what the cocktail is. We’ll talk maybe on the Zoom too. The sound was weird on the Beyonce. We found ourselves having to turn it up, like, from just the regular football and, like, it sounded a little tinny and but it was good, and it was cool, because, like, where I was Googling How Old Blue Ivy is, because Blue Ivy was in the dance line her daughter, and she’s as tall as Beyonce. I was like, she can’t be like she looks I think she’s told I must be because she is 12. Looks like she turned 13 in a few weeks. But for her to be that.
Tall already, and she killed it. Boy, we killed it. She did, yes, so she did great. I can’t believe it’s 12 years ago that she ripped open her shirt at the Grammys or MTV. I think Grammys, and that’s how she asked. But I have to say, I know at my house, the second she came on, everyone was talking about Jay Z’s lawsuit, which led to Diddy, and we don’t know that Beyonce is involved at all, and we certainly don’t know that Jay Z is guilty of anything, because, as of now, it’s just an allegation, but it does muddy all of the that’s what everybody in my house, she was not wearing a wedding ring. Oh, but does she always wear a wedding ring? Because I feel like performing, and that’s what I was saying. Because with my husband, I feel like, though right now, because there is so much chatter, if you’re like, just wear a little, teeny, tiny, skinny band that doesn’t distract or not, like there would have been, it could have been something really tiny that wouldn’t have been distracting to her costume. And so I feel like now would be the time you would wear it, if you’re being really supportive, or even just a band, like, you know what, maybe you don’t want to wear your whole range and the whole thing, just because you’re even, like, the silicone bands that people wear, and you’re a billionaire, you can just get a standing, right? But I think maybe that is a statement, that’s my thought, because I feel like if she’s not wearing one at the time, where you would think she should be wearing one, there might be a message there, but we don’t know. And I’m torn because and we’ve had this conversation many times, like, about what her spouse is responsible to know, like with Jen Shah and her husband, I was like, how could she not know? And you were like, B, think about it. If he’s he has his own career, and he’s not intimately involved, and you trust your spouse, and it just, I guess I’m just a sort of person. I just find it hard to believe that a spouse doesn’t have an inkling. Yeah, like I would, I’d be willing to bet my life that my husband isn’t doing anything illegal. And there’s levels, of course, but like at the level that the Diddy situation is, and the allegations of Jay Z
I just find it hard to believe. Or there could be somewhere in between, where maybe she knew Diddy was a weirdo and not to stay late at his parties, but didn’t, didn’t, and maybe Jay wasn’t involved, we don’t know, and she didn’t think that, like, he’s good for industry, whatever, but maybe that’s what she thought. So it’s hard to say, Yeah, I think it’s hard to say. And I think it’s a world that, like, we don’t understand, where you see people like, Oh, they’re friends. It’s, I think if you’re in that world and you want to have success, maybe you don’t get yourself intimately involved with somebody like Diddy. But in that arena, I think if you’re gonna snub Diddy, it’s probably gonna have effects on your career. Let’s think about you have your work friends and you have your real friends. So I would imagine and right, like some people are, like, that was a work friend, and not what? Not the friend that I’m asking to go have lunch with on a day off. And what we see is may not be what real life is like at the Grammys or red carpet events. That’s not there every day Exactly. Amanda, I thought that this week would be slow because and we’re going to get into southern charm guys, because we really we record on Wednesdays and southern charm airs on Thursdays. So I feel like we don’t get into the meat and potatoes of it, because other stuff comes. So we are going to do southern charm today. Christmas was busy for Amanda and I, with the gossip in town. It has even this morning, and yesterday, we’ve gotten some stuff, and you were starting to tell me about something that I hadn’t seen yet. I want you to start there, because I want to hear this story, as you guys know ally, and this is some really good exclusive gossip, because we can’t verify it. Ally, Jill zarins daughter was engaged this summer. She had been going with the guy a couple of years, and then they get engaged. There’s a huge engagement party, and seemingly out of nowhere, there’s a video of her with some emotional song, like a tick tock, and then there’s a video of her moving into a studio apartment. So we’re all like, oh, they split. And sure enough, they split. And you guys kept asking Amanda and I why, right? Like, when you get to the point of engagement, you have an engagement party you’re dating for two and a half three years, there’s got to be an IT. So we speculated about what we thought it was, and yesterday, I got sent to me that her ex fiance so Page Six, did some clickbait D article, right? Because it’s Christmas, it’s well, and by the way, you also posited at the time, Jill Zarin is keeping it under lock and key, and that’s why we hadn’t heard much. Yes. So this is the thing. Jill Zarin went on Jeff Lewis with her boyfriend, Gary and ally, and they basically said, Nothing nefarious happened. Nobody did anything terrible.
People, they just split. They made it seem amicable. So like I said,
Listen, could it be that they got engaged and they both sat down and said, we care about each other, but we’re not meant to be married. Sure, it’s possible, but I just don’t believe that. But I clearly don’t feel he did anything wrong, because Jill Zarin is the public figure, and it’s her only daughter, and she’s a very outspoken woman, and I just in my gut said if this guy did something, if he dumped her, if he cheated on her, if he did something, whatever, had some illegal scheme going on, like Jill would come out and speak poorly again, right? Maybe not say exactly, but the fact that they were like, no, he’s a great guy, just didn’t work out unless so this page six thing comes up and he comments on it. The guy, Jay, I don’t even know. Is it Justin? Is it Jason, what did the page six articles say? That’s a good question. It was just something like about their split kind of a click Beatty, because this, because there hasn’t been much inspiration, right? Yeah. So what did it say? It said Jill zarins daughter, Ali Shapiro, reflects on toughest year following engagement. Oh, so, like, I think he was also pissed, because it’s okay we split, and now you’re doing like, headlines about it, yeah, I’m scrolling through it right now. And so she’s using her breakup for relevancy at a time when it’s actually smart, because there’s not a ton of articles coming out right now. So so he writes on the page six story, who gave you permission to use my name and face? Why don’t you ask me for the real story instead of claiming I have no comments? So he’s fighting back. Now. This is months later.

so an Instagram person, a person on Instagram wrote, maybe not needed, like, maybe they don’t need your permission to post this, and the ex writes it is needed when people are spreading false information about my life. Hmm. So now, okay, I had my theory, which, if you guys remember, we discussed it here, I think, unless we did it in cocktail, my theory that I think it’s financial, my theory that I have no proof of, okay, and then I’m gonna let you know what a South Florida source in that social circle told me. But my theory was like, I think that Jill is a very savvy business woman. Jill also is a wealthy woman. These are wealthy people. She when Bobby Zarin died, I don’t know the number, but she got many million dollars. She’s had great success in her own right. And Ali and Jill have had great success with their Jill and Ali brands candles. It started with the masks and COVID, all of that, my mind said, You know what? I think that after they got engaged and after the engagement party,
they started to have the conversation about what a prenup would look like. And listen, I am sure that this man that was engaged to her was fully prepared to sign a prenup, because you can’t marry somebody whose mother is worth $20 million or, I’m not saying that’s the number, but several million dollars, and not sign a prenup. And from what we’ve seen on their Instagrams, it seems to me like this guy has a comfortable life. His parents are probably, like, they probably were able to pay for his college and, like, upper middle class. But I don’t get the impression because they’ve posted from the his parents house and this sort of thing. I don’t get the impression that he’s like Zarin, right? So I think that the prenup basically said, like, you’re not entitled at any point to any of Ali’s business money. This was just my hunch. In any event, somebody writes to me today after I posted about the Page Six thing, and it’s a follower who I chat with all the time who runs in circles, right? So this person live has a house out east and a house in South Carolina. I don’t know the person’s financial status, but based on the information she’s told me over the years, she runs in those circles, right? She said to me she heard that the ring was a lab diamond, and that Allie got pissed when she found out again. I don’t know that this is true. I’m just telling you what this person said. And also this is another thing that was said by more than one person that the guy did not ask Jill, tradition is before you propose you speak to parents. And he didn’t do that. Oh, that. I just
diamond, I mean, and the person wrote, she’s very spoiled. Listen, here’s my thing. So you have an ordinary guy, and I forget what this guy’s job is, but people there was, like, Reddit threads and whatever, the guy has like, a normal job. You know what I’m saying? Like, he’s not, he’s doesn’t, he doesn’t run a hedge fund, but he has a normal job. I’m sure he makes a good living, or whatever. So the world it is today. Because when Amanda and I first got married, back in our day, lamp diamonds were nothing, right? And you can see, I see young girls walking around like the supermarket with six carat rings, and I’m sorry, but
unless you’re a wealthy person, if you’re rocking a ring of that size, it’s a lab how many carats Did you say? What I’m just saying? These girls have these few drinks, because a five carat lab costs like eight to 10,000 whereas, when I was getting married, a two carat cost like right 1000. My opinion is if you’re a person who wants a real diamond,
I think you have to accept that it’s gonna be smaller than a lab diamond, and I, if I remember correctly, Ali’s ring, was definitely like five carats or more. Yeah, I think there is not absolutely nothing wrong. And I know you agree with a lab diamond, I do think it’s problematic if somebody passes a diamond off as a real diamond when they propose, and then you find out too at your own. I could see a situation where, okay, she’s we should probably get this insured. Can I have the GIA paperwork to take to my insurer, and then if she finds out that way? Yeah.
Right, even if he didn’t say specifically, but let her think that was a real diamond, then I could see that being some real grounds for an issue, because if he isn’t upfront about it from the beginning, then it makes you wonder what else he wouldn’t be completely upfront about in their lives together. I get that, but I also I agree. I certainly agree with that, but I also feel like if you love somebody, right, you have to recognize, if you’re ally, you should have some insight and recognize you’re a person of like, extreme privilege, financially, and if you’re dating and serious with a guy who’s more regular kind of like parents do well, but they’re not multi millionaires, you have a standard. What do you expect? Like, how would he have right? But a real diamond is gonna be, what, 60 to $100,000
that’s a much bigger difference than 10.
Yeah, but you say to yourself, would she have had a negative reaction if he gave her I get the deceit piece, but let’s say he gave her a regular one and a half carat solitaire ring, and it was a real diamond. Would that have impressed her? Probably not. So he’s damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t. And that comment on page six just goes to show that this was not a amicable split, that there is, there are parts to the story that the public is not aware about, not that it’s any of our business, but this is our business because we’re lazy, and that he’s speaking out, but then leaving it like he’s putting enough doubt for people like you and I to speculate with all our theories without saying something Yeah. And then you wonder if he signed an NDA, if they were like, You know what? Here’s $50,000 you can’t speak about this. I would imagine something like that went down or that when they started to get serious. So isn’t it? NDA, who knows a lot of people, what it is. What if Jill liked him? They were dating, but then when they got engaged, sat down and was like, Listen, this guy is not gonna provide you the lifestyle that you’re accustomed to. So I think you should call it and put yourself back out there. You’re an influencer. Now she loves saying that on Jeff Lewis’s pod. And I listen to, I am a fan of Jill Zirin. I really am. But I just think that we all know
that wealthy people sometimes are like that, yeah, especially for somebody coming into a situation that had maybe a more modest, but not poor situation, going into a
we have homes all over the world situation. It’s a very it’s a culture clash. That’s exactly what it is. It’s just like a, yeah, a class issue. I like he’s not exactly Leonardo DiCaprio in the barracks on the Titanic, yeah, but he’s also not in this right, right? So I think it almost makes it more complicated, because I think he can acclimate to that life because he’s been to nice restaurants with his parents, but he doesn’t do it every time they go out to eat, like it’s that kind of thing and so, and we’re giving Jill and Ally all the flack, but maybe they also, maybe they felt, you know what, he likes the lifestyle more than he likes, and that’s one of the things I had wondered, too. If maybe it was a little bit of that and that, the realization started to hit after the engagement. But regardless, it is, it’s good, I think, that they didn’t go through with a marriage, right? Because it’s so much harder if you do that and no wedding date, there were no gifts, maybe some engagement gifts, but no wedding gifts sent. It’s just much better that way. Yeah. So listen, we wish, of course, Ali definitely, but when there’s fodder on the internet, we’re gonna talk about it. And remember, Lala found out that Randalls ring was fake. And I don’t even know if that was a lab or just a fully fake that story, yeah, when they split and she, like, had the ring, and I guess was going to try to use it to whatever sell it, she couldn’t because it wasn’t working. That does not surprise me. I do remember that, hey, it’s Ryan Seacrest for Albertsons, Vons and pavilions. Okay, I want to read another email that we just got in this one is from Jersey girl. Subject Brown, stone blues, and it says, must stay anonymous, but the manzos are in financial trouble. Manzo brothers LLC have, I don’t want to give any of these details, but something about the loan with the brownstone looks like it could be going into early foreclosure. It says they stopped. I won’t share that detail anyway, either. It just essentially is saying that it looks like there could be trouble around the brownstone, and the manzos may not own it in the future, which is a real shame, I think, because it it provided for their entire business. It looked like a beautiful place to host events. It says, Make it was, I’ve been there. Oh, that’s right. As a matter my my best friend, got married there. And as a matter of fact, she also did her shower there. And the room she did her shower in was it looked like a greenhouse. It was all glass pretty. It was really beautiful. And they really did, we’re going back. This was oh nine, beautiful. She had a beautiful wedding, a beautiful shower that yeah, and then the end of the set, it says, makes sense, why Caroline did girls trip and then a cookbook more to come in the new year. My thoughts on this are, first of all, I hope it’s not true, and if it is true, it’s all going to come out, right? Because these are public records. This was an email that somebody sent me. Oftentimes, when someone sends an email weeks or a couple months or sometimes days later, you see an article in Page Six or somewhere else saying, like, defaulted loan or like the stuff in this email, it’s going to be public. The same way if it’s true, which we don’t know that it’s true, because this is an email sent in anonymously. It’s not from a source we have not verified it. The same way that initially, if you guys remember the Kim zilziak thing, the foreclosure was swirling for a long time, and Amanda and I kept reading the emails that we received, and lo and be and Kim was going on her Instagram stories and denying it, and lo and behold. Then we got then we started getting sent documents of the lien on the house and the foreclosure and that all the stuff. So this is not something that you can get in because they are public figures, even taking television out of it. It’s a well known establishment in Paterson, New Jersey, so this is going to be in the local papers regardless. And I vaguely remember something was in a newspaper, but again, owing a citation, or having back taxes, like sometimes LLCs and corporations, things like that occur, and then they sort it out with their accountants and their attorneys, and it goes exactly so that’s the thing. With things like this, there could be truth to that where they are right now, but something could get restructured, and then everything’s on the everything’s good, and we wouldn’t know, and we do know that his brother was just sentenced to jail, and so they may have had to restructure things because of human owner and the LLC or something like that. And it could be that on the surface, when you see documents, it looks like what this person is saying, but in actualities, they’re sorting it all out, restructuring it, and everything’s fine, yeah. So basically, hold tight and we’ll find out one way or the other. And we hope that it’s not true, because we don’t. Nobody likes to see anybody’s life’s work and business, and people probably have weddings coming up there. You would hope, oh god yes, okay, we got another one. This is, I won’t say, from the person subject.
Crystal Minkoff, and then it says blank is her username on Reddit. She is posting about herself and promoting her podcast on the housewife’s subs. She is also bashing the new seasons. So I don’t know if this is an unpopular opinion, I really like crystal. I was sad that she wasn’t coming back. Although I do really like the new additions, I also think that if you have a new podcast, there’s nothing wrong with going behind the curtain and promoting it. I’ve listened to her in Cynthia’s podcast, and I enjoy it. They talk housewives. They a little bit like they took like their friendships and stuff. I’ve only listened, I think, one time, but they took like their friendship with the housewives in different like situations. And I like both of them. So okay, it’s not like a podcast where I’m like, Oh, the new one just dropped. I gotta listen to that. But if I’m in the car driving, and I have the time, I’ll say, Oh, let me tune it in. Like that, the talking smack about the season, it’s possible, I’m sure, there’s bitterness there. And if she’s doing it in a place where she’s anonymous, or thinks she’s anonymous, then she probably feels like she has the freedom to do that, where on her very public podcast, even if she has negative opinions on the new season, she’s not, probably sharing it because she knows better. I don’t know that it’s necessarily like a jealousy or bitterness saying, because they might just be, like, I can, as an anonymous person, she can actually say the things that she’s always wanted to say and couldn’t. Yeah, I always wonder, like, how would somebody know it was her Reddit? I don’t know. And I actually I got the unless it’s another housewife sending it in, and whatever she’s saying is in for because, again, I’m not guys, I’m not on Reddit. I don’t understand how to work Reddit. It’s to me, it’s very good. It is like one of the jobs credit is, it’s very much frowned upon to be secretly promoting anything. And people call each other out and yeah, so I am okay here, I just looked up on Reddit. It says, and it’s on the Bravo wheelhouse wives subreddit, and that the post is obsessed with humblebrag pod. I’m looking under this and the next one, humble brag episode, two sub snippets. This is on a different subreddit, and then here’s another one. Okay, but who’s to say that the podcast company isn’t doing that? Here’s another one, Crystal and Rob Minkoff kicking off the holiday. That does sound like a publicist headline. She’s a wealthy woman. She probably has an assistant crystal. And Cynthia have a new podcast called humble brag, and I’m loving it. Anyone else listen yet? Okay, I really think there’s some truth to this. Yeah, listen to me as somebody she obviously has a much bigger platform than we do, and I don’t do Reddit, so I’ve never gone on Reddit and done it, but you guys follow my stories. You have to promote yourself. I will be like, Oh, we ranked like, when our pod premiered at number one. Like, I posted about that. I reposted it. I write, like, juicy episode this week. Tune in because, but so you’re saying, like, Reddit, you’re not so it’s, she’s acting like it’s a follower. Yeah, now I’m laughing because there’s another one, Rob Minkoff being an absolute gem. Yeah, it seems the ball. And the only thing I know about Reddit is that people have sent me. Followers have sent me. They haven’t in a long time. Bravo, and cocktails socks and this kind of stuff. So I feel like it’s more a hater place, right, where people preach. Yeah, there’s, there’s places where and people post our cocktail stuff as and they should, and so that’s just crappy, but, yeah, but also I think, I think you’re damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Because if I listened to Crystal’s podcast, and I’m actually very careful now, because I just don’t want to deal with it, I will immediately, like when I was posting and being like, I don’t know why everyone’s so hard on Roni reboot. I’m enjoying it. The DMS I got and because we also got emails that were like, how much are they paying you to say this, what? I’m not allowed to have a positive opinion that isn’t the popular opinion without compensated. And to be clear, and I always say this, if I’m paid in any way, I have to note that I have to write ad sponsored affiliate link like you can get into a lot of trouble, because if Bravo were paying me, which to be clear, I have never received one red cent from Bravo directly, but if they were paying me, there would be like, a 1099, or tax document showing it, and If I wasn’t transparent, I would get myself jammed up, yeah, and probably in trouble too. Yeah, that’s that is entertaining, like even during politics, which you guys know we don’t discuss, but there were influencers who accepted monies from both sides, and they had to note that, which is how we knew that they were accepting money if they did an endorsement for.
One or the other, they had to say that it was a paid endorsement, because you can get into a lot of trouble, exactly. But I digress. I think that crystal is trying to make it happen. There probably is some bitterness that she was let go. And there’s nothing wrong with again, as you said, trying to promote your show. But if you’re doing it again, if you’re doing it and you’re like, I’m just a fan, I’m just a fan, and you’re actually not just a fan, then that is also problematic. It’s very similar to the whole Monica Garcia thing on Salt Lake City, right? Just staying as an anonymous, anonymous person and then saying really mean things. I’m not saying crystal is saying these really mean things. But anyway, it is interesting. We won’t post the screen name just because we can’t verify this, but I believe this email I do. Okay, let’s talk southern charm, since we haven’t much had much of a chance to do that. So this latest episode, Austin and Shep are out for lunch with Craig the dog.
And then they start slamming on Craig, the person saying that he’s doing his own like commercials. He’s curating this image. And then they, of course, have to say, we remember when he was high on Adderall, that lunch was like pure hater stuff. But this is the thing. Meantime, Austin is just opened a restaurant with Craig, so when they were filming, obviously that was all in the works, so that it just doesn’t sit well with me. The other thing is, they mention, like Shep says to Austin, does he confide in you about Paige? He’s in a years long relationship with Paige. Most adults don’t gossip, or, as they say, confide in like they’re teenagers. When it’s a new relationship and you’re getting to know somebody which are really the only relationships that Austin and Shep are familiar. Yeah, you confide because it’s new and whatever. But once you’re settled in and things are good and like Shep, yeah, maybe Shep was still confiding with Taylor, but he was also actively cheating on her. So there was stuff going on where you might say to your friend, oh my god. And then Austin’s always worn many hats. He used to run around King Street. Then he wanted to be a lawyer. Now he wants to be Martha Stewart. And then he’s joking Martha’s friends with Snoop. It’s there basically saying that because Craig is growing up and not engaging in toxic behaviors he did in his 20s. He’s boring, yeah, yeah. And I okay first, just quickly, I agree that adults, especially dudes, do not gossip about their own relationships unless they’re not going well. So that, to me, sounds there’s nothing to be shared. Because once you enter a true partnership, you are always thinking of your partner first, so that just seems like grown ass man behavior. And yeah, I think it’s all it’s all jealousy, because I think Shep and Austin are feeling left behind, and they’re still stuck in Peter Pan land, and they’re also seeing so there’s that where they’re feeling left behind by Craig, but they’re also watching Craig build an empire, and are like, wait a second, he’s leaving us behind in terms of power and money and all of those things. And it’s like when somebody goes on a diet and other people are out, and they’re like, just eat some french fries with us, because they want to feel better about themselves, and that’s what’s that’s all those are saying. So Madison and Paige are wearing almost the exact same outfit when Madison comes over for lunch or whatever to sit by the pool at Craig’s house. That was cute. I like their friendship. I just found it funny, like they’re only showing Paige on her phone, making it seem like she’s not interested. I definitely think they’re giving her this edit of too cool to be there, combined with the guys gossiping, they’re just showing Paige on her phone, it just, they’re, you know, it just seems to me like they want to paint, is success bad for a show like this? And here’s my question, and I don’t know if you’ll know the answer, but does Craig get paid to be on summer house, and does Paige get paid to be on Southern charm? I would imagine they get episodic fees, like a fee per episode, and I also would guess that it’s below what they demand on their own show, but since they’re in a relationship, they each have to take one for the team, which may be why we don’t get Paige doing too much, because she’s, I’m not gonna bring this one, right? Paige can has a high ask, right? Yeah, I looked at tickets in New York for the giggly squad, which is at the Radio City musical. And I don’t know if it were just the tickets that were left or what, but they were like 150
and, yeah, yeah, that’s what I was wondering. Maybe if Paige isn’t being paid, or isn’t being paid much like she probably also doesn’t need to feel like she’s got to bring any drama, or really anything. And so it reminds me of that Naomi Campbell quote where she said she doesn’t get out of bed for less than $10,000 like, I could see Paige being like, yes, of course, to support you crave. I’m going to be there, and I will, you know, I really like Madison, and I’ll come. But like, I don’t see any need to share too much either. Because I have my own show. I have my own stuff, just like you have your own show and you have your own stuff, right, right? And I get up, I think so too. And it gives off to me, like, Paige ain’t thirsty vibes, is what I take away from that, because she’s not. And I just but I also feel like, if I’m a producer, that doesn’t work right for me. Do you think from production, the production of this weird edit, do you think they could be trying to set up that Paige and Craig get broken up at some point? I think so. And I also think that I have no idea, because I’m not in the arena of being on a public platform, but I have to imagine that if you and I were on a show, and you and your husband are getting an edit where he’s flipping to you and he’s this and that, and then you’re having to read the comments online, I would imagine it would have a transfer into your real life. Yeah, and yeah, I think it would could affect your real life. And maybe that’s the goal. And so it’s like how we’ve seen so many Bravo celebrities marriages crumble. Amanda and Kyle are another couple that it can’t be easy for them to re watch and see arguments that you may have with your husband that you completely forget about. But now six months later, you’re re watching Madigan, and you’re like, yeah, and then you’re seeing the comments on Bravo and cocktails like, What a dick he is. And you’re like, you know what? You worked and now you’re fighting again. You know, I’ve always found it, and the house waves have always commented on that too, right where? Like, they get over a fight, but then they see it again and they get mad again, which is how I what I would do, too, if I were in a fight with my husband or somebody and saw it again. I’m like, No, now I’m mad about I’m mad again. I thought it was interesting that Madison shared that Brett had thyroid cancer, and I was really surprised. It seemed like they kept it really under wraps, because I had not heard about this, had you I don’t remember hearing about it until she said it on the show. Obviously, thankfully, he’s in remission. And I think I wonder if Paige really didn’t know, or they just wanted to drive the point home that this was a very private thing, because I just find it hard to believe that Craig wouldn’t mention it, but maybe they wanted to just not seem like they were gossiping, because health issues aren’t something to go have about. But it makes sense when Madison’s I have no tolerance for JT and his nonsense because I’m dealing with real life stuff, so Madison approaching JT and just reading him for Fauci.
Because I can’t stand the guy. I feel like the audience in general can’t stand the guy. So I really appreciate it. It was Madison girl. Her words are weapons, and she used those weapons are sharp, yes, yes. Do you believe this whole thing about JT calling Patricia bitch? I do. You do believe it? I think that. JT says really outrageous things. First of all, JT tried to deny that. He said that Madison that Brett thought Madison hooked up, but we watched him tell Shep and Craig at that simulated golf. Yeah, so and everyone’s Oh, Craig lies Okay. When Craig was younger, years ago, we watched him say things that weren’t 100% based in truth. Yes, but what’s the upshot to him saying that he called Patricia a bitch? I don’t know. Is it semantics? Did he not use that? That’s where I’m wondering, right is? Or if he said like she had a bitchy response, or something like that, which is not the same, also not appropriate, but not the same. And I My feeling is the camera’s caught whatever it is. They’re purposely not showing this because this is a thing that gets discussed, probably throughout the season, and that we’ll find out what the truth is. I hope so. And if it’s not on camera, that’s not good, because JT would never admit it, unless he had to, because even some of the stuff he says on camera, he tries to bob and weave, right? I can tell you that currently, that event space he owns is for sale. Some of his Airbnbs are for sale because cocktails sent me the listings. So I don’t know if his plan is to get the hell out of Charleston all, all together, keep some of his investment properties. He quit, but he’s back to doing green screens. I’m sure he’s going to show up at the reunion, because if he doesn’t, it’s he number one, he’s definitely out, even though he says he quit. And number two, you lose that check. Same thing people are saying about Karen, which, by the way, we had the whole pod last week before Karen was found guilty, but we had insider tea from a cocktail or who was in the courtroom, so we knew a lot of what was coming down. But yeah, JT has got to go. And now you have Molly and Sally, who I think are great additions. Sally, who was involved with the Republic, worked there, but has a real legit career as she teaches surgeon how to use surgical robots. So she was in a relationship with Gaston for a few months, and she was in love with him. She said she thought that he was her person, and she found out he was cheating on her the whole time, and then she subsequently hooked up and had a one night stand with Shep. So now going to Taylor, who we know I’m not a huge fan of, I can absolutely see why Taylor would be
not a fan of Sally, because she did sleep with her Shep after Taylor and whatever. But then what I didn’t like was when Taylor said something like about Sally in regards to Gaston, and it’s no, we’re not gonna cover for a guy who was in a relationship with her and cheated on her. She’s not at fault, and it’s to me, Sally and oh my God, what’s her name? Taylor. Sally and Taylor are actually in very similar situations. Taylor had a relationship with Chef, Sally had a relationship with Gaston first, then they hooked up with their other person. So it’s not like Sally did anything wrong, nothing that Taylor didn’t do. I actually I looked Sally up because we knew that she had worked at Republic, and I remembered, and then I was like, Oh, now I remember because she was a host, and she was on southern hospitality, and she was the person. She had that flirtation connection with Joey bottles. And then Joey bottles found out that Sally had kissed Gaston right before their date, and so then the drama kind of ensued from there. But that sounds like also right. When Sally’s relationship with Gaston probably started, she was also on The Bachelor, which I didn’t know. She bailed out before the limos arrived, and then she was on Bachelor in Paradise, but, like, she came a little bit late because she had stuff to do at work. And I’m like, good for you. I like this girl. And so we watched TJ did an interview with, I’m not whatever one of those clips that you see going around Instagram, and he’s, oh, it’s her fourth reality show. Hopefully this one sticks. So the southern hospitality crew is not a fan of yours. What? So far, she’s bringing drama, and I like it. I did find it funny when Taylor was saying, oh, Gaston doesn’t want to come to the party, but it’s my good friends. Okay, what it really is that Gaston probably wanted a check, and Southern charm was not interested in paying him, so that’s why he’s not showing himself, which is, again, understandable, which is fine. You don’t have to work every hopefully it’s not for other reasons. Hopefully it’s not like he’s not really that into her kind of situation, and it’s really about money. And if that’s the case, I get it. I get it. But so far, loving southern charm, let’s see how this all unfolds. Shep’s girlfriend is gorgeous, gorgeous, and I love it because he seems so.
Much more into her than she is getting to him, probably for the first time in his life. I think she just seems to have a sharp she’s just smart. Probably has a good head on her shoulders, and is, I don’t think this guy has treated women that well in the past. Let’s see how things go with me. I’ll just go in slowly on this thing. And she’s Miss Bahamas. Yeah, she’s, she’s up there, and it’s funny, too. The country she lives in, she’s Miss Bucha. I’m sure Shep is not so impressive to her, and I’d be willing to bet that she probably liked the idea of being on a reality show and getting some shine and some fame. I know that I’ve started following her on Instagram since then. Oh, I should follow I’m sure a lot of others did. She is beautiful and likable. So Should she post something that’s cute? I’ll buy it. And tada, she’s got her own thing success. I wonder if she had it on, because I know the beauty pageants, once you’re Miss country, then you go on to the Miss World, or miss whatever. I think, oh, we have so we’ll have to look and see how she did, because she’s, I think she is seriously one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever seen. So we’ve got a little time. Should we end on the
rumors? About the new house fire show or do we do it ends with us. Okay, we can do it. Let’s do that. Let’s talk about that. So,
and I know a lot of people have questions as do I because I know some things, but I didn’t dive in that. So if you guys remember, it ends with us. Came out this summer, and there was a lot of drama around the movie because Blake didn’t really promote it with Justin, which is very odd that Justin didn’t go to the premiere night. And people were like, what’s going on? There was a very good article in The New York Times, which is where I’ve gotten a lot of this information, so just wanted to credit them, because this, this article is really good. You guys should go read it if you get a chance. We find out this week that Blake Lively put in a legal complaint, which we’ll talk about in a minute, that now we find out when they were shooting Blake Lively complained that Justin Baldoni and Jamie Heath, who’s a lead producer for Wayfarer, which Justin has ownership as well, had repeatedly violated physical boundaries and made sexual and other inappropriate comments to her, including she was getting body making taken off and was topless in her trailer. And Justin just comes in. Both of them had come into her trailer, many times unannounced, talked about corn, talked about their relationship. So when she did this complaint at the time, Wayfarer, the studio agreed to provide a full time intimacy coordinator, bring in an outside producer, and also agreed not.
Not to retaliate against Blake. So at that point, both of those men hired a crisis public relations expert, the same one, apparently, who led the PR against Amber, heard when the whole Johnny Depp trial was happening. So then last Friday, Blake filed a legal complaint, not a lawsuit, that claims that the PR effort that resulted was all about harming Blake’s reputation. Instead, in the filing, there are 1000s of pages and text texts and emails that she obtained through a subpoena. Some of these texts were extremely eye opening, including saying that Baldoni wanted to feel like she can be buried, and the PR person responded said, we can bury anyone. Another person working for Justin and Jamie led a digital strategy that included boosting social media posts that would help their cause to bury her so meaning negative posts, and it worked. Before the film’s release, the negative media coverage and commentary about it was like she’s very difficult to work with. Was a big part of the message. Became the pro this became the predominant conversation about her. There was even a Daily Mail article that said, is Blake lightly set to be canceled, so apparently, going back to when they’re shooting once, she complained to Wayfarer, the harassment, there were so many other things you guys should read this article. It got better, but then it became a creative battle, because this is another piece that I remembered. Blake made her own cut of the movie. She hired her own composer, and she added a Taylor Swift song in the end. Sony, who was distributing the film. They chose Blake’s cut of the movie, and she got a producer at it. So another detail that I thought was really interesting, a brand marketing consultant wrote a report after after all the shooting was going on, and when all this negative talk about her was going on, that lively had likely been the object of a targeted multi channel online attack similar to the one done against Amrit heard during the Johnny Depp trial. The report did not identify the attack, but it analyzed the entirety of Google search index, so like over time for Blake’s name, and found that 25 of the percent of the results also included. I think that was 35% but I might have written it wrong. Included a reference to Baldoni, given she’s had that I don’t know, 20, at least year career that suggested the media environment was being manipulated. According to Blake’s hair care company, she also launched a hair care company called Blake brown right around when the film was coming out, her product line estimated they lost up to 78% in sales as a result of this. So back to current day, the legal complaint was filed with the California Civil Rights department. It’s considered to be a precursor to a lawsuit, and as of this week, Justin Baldoni has been dropped by WME his talent agent. See, listen, sorry I put, do not disturb, and a phone call just came through. Sorry, guys, I don’t know what that is, and it’s spam, which makes it even more fun. I don’t think there’s any denying, because there’s receipts on this. And one of the PR people involved actually posted on a very large Facebook group and didn’t they said, and this is a post on our website, a woman named Jennifer Abel said, I never thought it would come to this. I would have to defend my own peers, but this certainly has been interesting and devastating. No, I was never subpoenaed. I found out my private text messages and emails were included in a complaint after the New York Times contacted me, they have already reviewed an 80 page document and had questions prepared and apparently also received. So there’s no denial, right? It’s more like, how are my private texts out there, which, again, the legalities of all of that I have no idea. What strikes me is a few things. Number one, if this can happen to somebody as powerful as Blake Lively, who is an A list actress, what chance do does an unknown actress stand in an arena where somebody like this guy wants to manipulate a situation, wants to sexually harass, wants to do whatever, right? I also am appalled that listen when you first see that Blake Lively is suing. I can see, without reading any documents, without seeing the text messages, without seeing the proof, right? I can see that, because of the smear campaign, people’s opinion on her was Yeah. So I can see them being like, Oh, she’s pissed off because her movie didn’t do well. She’s pissed off because people didn’t like her, promoting the movie, the other thing, and I don’t know if you said it in there, is that like the studio said, Don’t focus on the domestic violence, focus on the power of the character and all of this. And so Blake went with that, and Justin focused on the domestic abuse. But that was actually the like the people in charge of the movie told Blake that.
It wasn’t that Blake was being cutesy, so people’s opinion on her is down. And the immediate reaction to this legal complaint was that, oh, she’s just mad because public opinion is down, guys, whether you like Blake Lively or not, whether you liked Blake Lively before, whether you like I can say I didn’t have a huge opinion on Blake Lively. Prior to this, I’ve seen stuff that she’s in. It wasn’t a huge Gossip Girl, person. I didn’t dislike her. I wasn’t like, oh my god, she’s amazing. I just was like, she’s a good actress. I’ve seen her in things I’ve liked. I didn’t have a huge opinion one way or the other. After the it ends with us, I’ll be honest. Amanda, I didn’t I never read the book, and I didn’t watch the movie because it was like old band press and people were saying it wasn’t good. I didn’t bother even when it became like, there’s so much to watch nowadays, and what I just didn’t bother me. So I made $350
million the box offices. And imagine what it would have made if people like me weren’t negatively influenced. I think that whatever your personal opinion is on is about her prior to this movie and prior to the promotion. Let’s say you just didn’t care for her. There are actresses or celebrities that people feel like the Kardashians, for example, your I don’t get the hoopla. I know I’ve felt like that about them. They’re pretty whatever. But what’s the big deal with them? If you felt like that about Blake before, that’s valid. That’s your fin, that’s your opinion, but you can’t look at this and not recognize that she was done dirty. And I think, as a woman myself, it’s very disheartening to watch people just go with what the guy says. It’s people talk about the patriarchy or how it’s ingrained in people. And I think this is an example of that. What I find gross, and I actually didn’t mention this, is that Justin has been a very vocal me too, advocate and makes it so much weirder. It’s gross. It’s just gross. Yeah, I don’t like those text messages. I don’t listen. We can’t know that Blake didn’t use her. We can’t know that she wasn’t not maybe she wasn’t nice to Justin. Maybe she was trying to wield her a list power and in he’s not. We can’t know that. But what we do know is that whatever her attitude was, or her this, or her that he is the one who put into motion a PR campaign targeted at ruining her career, character, her life, campaign, period. That’s that on that. I’m not saying that maybe Blake isn’t a bitch. Maybe Blake is a bitch. Maybe Blake was nasty to Justin. Maybe she never gave him the time of day. Maybe she thought she was better than him. All that could be true. There’s no way for me to know, but what I do know is that it’s not okay to ruin somebody’s career because of it, absolutely not, yeah, go away. Justin Johnny Justin’s aren’t having a good year? No, I can’t think of one who is, yeah, just go away. I look forward to you like getting I look forward to justice being done on this case. Because it really is.
