Foreclosures are often maneuvers. Bought for less than owed. You cannot bid on your own debt but an agent (friend) can. After a time can revert title to you. One would have to have trust. It’s done a lot. Just saying this would make more sense.
And then the owners who defaulted on their loan skip away? Asking for a friend…
