Kristen Doute Says Friendship With Janet Caperna ‘Died’ Years Ago

Kristen Doute and Janet Caperna aren’t pretending there’s hope for a friendship anytime soon.

Following the latest episode of “The Valley,” the former friends reflected on their emotional sit-down during “The Valley: After Show,” with both women sharing very different perspectives on what went wrong between them and why they don’t see a path forward.

Kristen Doute Says the Friendship Is Over for Good

Kristen didn’t hold back when discussing the conversation, revealing she went into it with no intention of repairing the relationship.

“Finally, I literally looked at Janet, and I was like, ‘I’m not interested in a friendship with you. What more do you need? What more do you have to say to me? We sat down for three hours at Brittany’s house,'” she recalled.

According to Kristen, the discussion quickly stalled because she wanted to address Janet’s relationships with their mutual friends, including Danny and Nia Booko and Zack Wickham.

“I think the very first thing I said was, ‘I have a question. I’m gonna open this up. Do you think Danny and Nia owe you anything?'” Kristen explained. Janet declined to discuss them, saying she wanted to focus only on their relationship.

Kristen said that wasn’t possible because how Janet treats her friends affects how she views Janet.

“These are my friends. And the way you treat my friends is a direct reflection on how you would treat me.”

She also made it clear she believes their friendship ended long before cameras captured their latest conversation.

“That died so many years ago,” Kristen said. “There’s no growth. There’s no evolution.”

Janet Caperna Says the Problems Started Years Earlier

Janet said she prepared for the conversation with guidance from her therapist because she wanted to avoid another explosive argument.

“I said, ‘I have to have a conversation with a former friend. Every time we get together, it’s fireworks. We’re both like, screaming at each other. And it gets really heated, and I don’t want to get there,'” she shared. “My therapist was like, ‘Well then don’t. Don’t get there. Stay calm.'”

Even with that approach, Janet felt she couldn’t satisfy Kristen.

“I was like, ‘I can’t win,'” she admitted. “If I blow up at her, then I’m crazy, emotional. I’m a b*tch. And if I don’t, then I’m robotic.”

Janet said the friendship began falling apart during one of Kristen’s relationships before Luke Broderick. She recalled spending hours supporting her friend through the breakup, only to see the relationship continue days later.

She also pointed to an incident when Kristen stayed at her home while Janet was on her honeymoon.

According to Janet, Kristen left dog waste and vomit in the house and drank wine that had been set aside for work.

“So I was like, ‘Hey, I don’t love this,'” Janet recalled. “And she was like, ‘I would never disrespect your home,’ and I was like, ‘Well, you kind of did.'”

Janet said she was hoping for an apology but instead decided to set boundaries.

“All I wanted her to do was be like, ‘I’m sorry,’ and that was kinda like the final straw for me,” she explained. “I have to put a boundary up. As soon as I put a boundary up, she was like, ‘You’re my enemy.'”
