How Vicki Gunvalson Built Her Net Worth

Long before Bravo cameras entered her life, Gunvalson had already established herself as a successful entrepreneur.

After earning her insurance license, she quickly became one of the top-performing agents at her company. In the early 1990s, she launched Coto Insurance and Financial Services in Coto de Caza, California. The company specializes in life insurance, retirement planning, and financial services, and it remains the foundation of her wealth today.

Throughout her time on RHOC, viewers frequently saw her balancing client meetings, growing her business, and mentoring employees. Her career became one of the defining storylines of the series.

Vicki Gunvalson’s RHOC Salary

Reality television became another major source of income.

As one of the original Housewives, Gunvalson appeared on RHOC for 14 consecutive seasons before stepping away in 2020. During her run, reports estimated she earned approximately $500,000 per season, making her one of Bravo’s highest-paid Housewives.

Even after leaving as a full-time cast member, she continued appearing in Bravo projects, including “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip,” while making guest appearances on RHOC.

Her longevity on the franchise helped establish her as one of Bravo’s most recognizable personalities.

Businesses Beyond Bravo

While many reality stars launch businesses after becoming famous, Gunvalson built hers first.

In addition to Coto Insurance, she has authored books, participated in speaking engagements, hosted podcasts, and partnered with various brands over the years.

Her reputation as a hardworking entrepreneur earned her the U.S. Department of Defense Patriot Award in 2018 for supporting military families through her business.

Her children have also become involved in the family company. Son Michael Wolfsmith now works alongside her at Coto Insurance, while daughter Briana Culberson has remained supportive of the business despite pursuing her own nursing career.

Gunvalson’s Real Estate Portfolio

Real estate has also contributed to Gunvalson’s overall wealth.

For years, she lived in her iconic estate in Coto de Caza, which became one of the most recognizable homes on RHOC. The property featured five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a resort-style backyard, a waterfall pool, a grotto bar, and an outdoor kitchen.

She sold the home in 2021 for approximately $3 million before purchasing a smaller home in the same gated community. After renovating that property, she later listed it privately.

Gunvalson also owns a vacation condominium in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, which she frequently shares with fans on social media.

Latest News: Vicki Gunvalson Returns to RHOC Season 20

Gunvalson recently returned to “The Real Housewives of Orange County” during season 20, but not everyone was thrilled about the decision.

Speaking at the RHOC season 20 premiere event, she revealed that her daughter, Briana Culberson, initially urged her not to return to Bravo.

“Briana said, ‘No, Mom. The show has never been good for you. You’ve always lost relationships,'” Gunvalson shared.

According to Gunvalson, Briana’s biggest concern centered around her current relationship with boyfriend Michael Smith.

“She really enjoyed me with Michael, and we were just starting a new relationship, a couple years old, and she’s like, ‘Why do you want to do this? Don’t put him on,'” Gunvalson explained.

She ultimately followed that advice.

“I’m like, ‘Okay, I won’t put him on,'” she said. “She’s very protective over me.”

Despite keeping Smith largely off-camera, Gunvalson remains part of the RHOC universe while continuing to focus on her insurance business, podcast appearances, and family life.
