Katie Maloney is opening up about her ongoing fallout with Lala Kent — and she isn’t holding back.
During the May 13 episode of the “Disrespectfully” podcast, which she co-hosts with Dayna Kathan, the former “Vanderpump Rules” star reacted to Lala’s recent comments about their friendship ending and accused her ex-friend of acting “maliciously” during the season 10 reunion.
Katie also claimed Lala has continued behaving strangely around her ex-husband, Tom Schwartz, including on episodes of “The Valley.”
Katie Maloney Says Lala Kent ‘Turned on a Dime’
Katie addressed the text Lala reportedly sent her last summer after their friendship fell apart.
“Obviously, [Lala]’s talked about it now on multiple occasions that she sent me a text last summer, and it of course started off with like, ‘There’s no need to reply to this,’ so immediately I was like, ‘Cool, cuz I don’t plan on it,’” Katie said on the podcast.
Although Katie clarified that she doesn’t “hate” Lala or hold a grudge, she said she has learned from their repeated friendship issues.
“I kind of feel like I’d be a fool to keep coming back for more,” she explained. “This person is kind of showing me who and what they are, and it just doesn’t work for me anymore.”
Katie also disputed Lala’s suggestion that their falling out centered around one isolated moment during the “Vanderpump Rules” reunion involving private comments about Ariana Madix and their sandwich shop.
“She treats it as if there was this one moment, this isolated incident that happened at the reunion where she kind of like threw me under the bus with some information [about Ariana Madix] that was, first of all, private,” Katie said.
“It just felt, the intention felt malicious. It wasn’t to just genuinely call out or ask a question. It felt like, no, not for me.”
The Former VPR Star Calls Lala Kent’s Behavior ‘Weird as F*ck’
Katie revealed that she and Lala had been speaking regularly before the reunion, which made the situation more surprising to her.
“It was shocking how she turned on a dime so aggressively and so quickly, so that kind of threw me off,” Katie said.
“That sh*t was so weird. She went so hard. And then after that, for like months, doubled-down, tripled-down, brought my mom into it all, and [called] me miserable.”
Katie later shifted focus to Lala’s interactions with Schwartz on “The Valley,” suggesting the behavior reminded her of earlier issues they had when Lala first joined “Vanderpump Rules.”
“Obviously, I’ve moved on from my divorce and from Tom,” Katie explained. “But her moving weird with that stuff, like the joking of being with Tom and even seeing stuff on ‘The Valley’ of like, her constantly joking about hooking up with him and they pecked in the pool or something.”
Katie alleged that the situation brought back insecurities from her marriage.
“You’re gonna cry about our friendship but then do the very thing you did when you first came on to that show that made me hate you,” she said.
Katie concluded by saying she does not believe rekindling the friendship would end differently.
“It just feels weird, so I just feel like she moves funny, and I just think that it would be cyclical with her if we were to [rekindle our friendship],” she added.
Lala previously described losing Katie’s friendship as the “hardest” relationship to lose during an episode of her “Unlikely Affair” podcast.
Katie is back on our small screens on Hulu’s “House of Stassi.”
