West Wilson is finally speaking out about his relationship with Amanda Batula—and he’s setting the record straight.
The Summer House star opened up in a recent episode of the “Show Me Something With Sophie and West” podcast, addressing fan speculation and the backlash that followed the couple’s March 31 relationship reveal.
West Wilson Addresses Amanda Batula Romance Timeline
West made it clear that there was no overlap between their relationship and any past romances, including Amanda’s marriage to Kyle Cooke and his history with Ciara Miller.
“I have been better,” West said. “A lot has happened in a very, very short amount of time, obviously. And just trying to take it a day at a time and stay off my phone, but the internet is a very scary place to be.”
He continued, “I know there’s a thousand different theories on the internet right now, but that is one thing that for sure did not happen. Everyone was single, like I said earlier. So then we realized things are maybe a little bit serious in February, and that’s when this all started, and there’s not a whole lot more to it than that.”
West also acknowledged the criticism Amanda has faced since the news broke.
“For example, her number got leaked,” he said. “I don’t know how that happened. And someone messaged her and called her a home-wrecking w*ore, which I found to be obviously inappropriate. Can’t talk like that to people. But it’s also not true.”
He added that Amanda has taken “a big brunt of all of this,” saying he wishes criticism was directed at him instead.

As for how his castmates are responding, West admitted that communication has been mixed.
“I’ve sent some texts,” he said. “Haven’t gotten responses from everybody yet, which is to be expected. And I get it.”
He continued, “But that’s the hardest part, I think, of this whole situation is, you know, my actions have hurt people that I care about. But the reunion’s coming up, and I can give those apologies face-to-face and also clear up all of the crazy s*it that’s been on the internet.”
Meanwhile, castmate KJ Dillard also weighed in on social media, sharing his own reaction.
“Let me log off before i get accused of [cyberbullying] again,” he wrote, later adding, “The truth hurts, homie, tough love.”
In a follow-up message, KJ clarified his perspective.
“On a serious note i am still very hurt by all of this and i just want my family to be okay,” he said.
West and Amanda previously addressed their relationship in a joint statement when they confirmed the news publicly.
“We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity,” they shared. “It was never our intention to purposefully hide anything. Given the complicated dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.”
They added, “We’ve shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what’s developed recently was the last thing that either of us expected. Our connection grew out of a genuine, long-standing friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care.”
Fans can watch all the mess go down when new episodes of “Summer House” air Tuesday nights on Bravo.
