Carl Radke is addressing the drama surrounding his friend group following the confirmation of Amanda Batula and West Wilson’s relationship on “Summer House.”
During a recent bookstore event, Carl spoke candidly about the situation, pushing back on claims that he has been struggling behind the scenes.
“We’re all learning a lot of things like you guys are. These are my real friends. Like people I care a lot about,” Carl said.
The comments come after Amanda and West confirmed their relationship on March 31, following weeks of online speculation.

Carl directly addressed a comment made by Kyle Cooke in a street interview with TMZ, where Kyle referred to him as a “mess.”
“This moment of Kyle’s street interview with TMZ, holding a bag of dog poop while the interview’s going on, and then says that,” Carl said. “He texts me after and was like, ‘Sorry, brother.’ Me and Kyle have been talking a lot.”
Carl said he has remained in contact with everyone involved. “Was I emotional on the phone call with Kyle? Absolutely. Have I texted with Amanda? Absolutely. Have I talked to Ciara? Absolutely.”
He acknowledged the situation has been difficult. “It’s emotional. It’s hard,” Carl said. “As someone who cares deeply about his friends, as an empath, I carry on some of that energy.”
Carl admitted he had a tough moment. “Last week I did have a sleepless night. I did voice note Kyle and cry a little bit.”
Still, he pushed back on the narrative. “Am I a mess?” Carl said. “Slightly.”

Amanda and West confirmed their relationship in a joint statement shared on social media.
“We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity,” they wrote. “It was never our intention to purposefully hide anything.”
They explained why they kept things private. “Given the complicated dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.”
The pair said their relationship developed from a long friendship. “We’ve shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what’s developed recently was the last thing that either of us expected.”
They added, “Our connection grew out of a genuine, long-standing friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care.”
Amanda and West also acknowledged the impact on others. “We also recognize that this has had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless,” they wrote. “We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this.”
New episodes of “Summer House” air Tuesday nights on Bravo.
