“Summer House” fans are still processing the surprise relationship between Amanda Batula and West Wilson — and now, attention is turning to Wilson’s career.
After the pair confirmed their romance in a joint statement on March 31, viewers began asking what Wilson does when he’s not filming the Bravo series. As it turns out, Wilson has built a growing career in sports media.
“We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity,” Amanda and West shared via Instagram Stories. “It was never our intention to purposely hide anything.”

West has a background in athletics and media. He played college football at Montana State University before transitioning into sports journalism.
After graduating, West moved to New York City to pursue his career. “I moved to New York right after I graduated, didn’t have a job, and like, slept on couches and (expletive),” he said on the “Trading Secrets” podcast. “And so I think that, I mean, that is some financial investment, but that was a lot of time investment, uncomfortability investment.”
West previously worked at Bleacher Report before being laid off. He later joined Complex and Complex Sports, where he works as a journalist and reporter.
“The moment I kind of got to close [the] door on unemployment was this summer, and it was [a] very touching moment for me in real life [and] with the cast, on camera, with the crew, [with] everyone,” he told BravoTV.com. “Like, just seeing people who I hadn’t known for that long be super supportive and happy for me was a special moment that I’ll like remember forever.”
He has also appeared in NBCUniversal programming, including Peacock’s “Reality Hot Seat,” where he covered sports events alongside other reality stars.
‘Summer House’ Relationship Update: Amanda Batula & West Wilson Go Public
Amanda and West confirmed their relationship after weeks of speculation. In their statement, they explained the decision to keep things private at first.
“We’ve shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what’s developed recently was the last thing either of us expected,” they said.
The pair added that their connection grew over time. “Our connection grew out of a genuine, longstanding friendship,” they shared. “As our feelings evolved, we wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling.”
They also acknowledged the broader impact of their relationship. “We also recognize that this has had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless.”
Their relationship comes after Amanda’s split from Kyle Cooke in January following four years of marriage. West previously dated co-star Ciara Miller, who is also Amanda’s close friend.
