Sutton Stracke is finally addressing the awkward twist in her post-divorce life — her ex-husband is dating someone from her own inner circle.
On the latest “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: After Show,” Sutton, 54, opened up about Christian Stracke’s relationship with one of her former friends. The revelation came after a recent episode of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” in which Sutton learned about the romance from her son.
And yes, it’s as messy as it sounds.
Sutton Stracke Says the Relationship Feels Like a ‘Double Betrayal’
Jennifer Tilly didn’t mince words when discussing the situation on the latest episode.
“This was a situation where the woman knew Sutton’s husband while they were married … It’s like a double betrayal,” Jennifer, 67, said.
Sutton agreed the proximity made it sting even more. According to her, the woman and her family vacationed with Sutton and Christian while they were still married.
“Our boys were best friends … we had been friends since James was in kindergarten,” Sutton explained. “We would talk about my divorce … she had gotten divorced, and then I found out they were dating about six months later.”
Sutton and Christian were married for 16 years and share three children: Porter, 23, Philip, 22, and James, 19.
She believes the kids are navigating the situation as politely as possible — but not without discomfort.
“James opted out of their trip to Venice this Christmas. He was like, ‘I’m gonna stick with you, Mommy.’ And good for you, James,” Sutton shared. “They’re good kids, and they’re polite, so that’s how they’re gonna be.”
The RHOBH Star Says She Never Confronted Her Former Friend
Despite the betrayal vibes, Sutton never confronted the woman directly.
“What was the point?” she said. Sutton revealed her son told her about the relationship in confidence and asked her not to tell Christian he had spilled the news.
“I didn’t say a word. I waited until I got the first annulment letter, and I said, ‘I think there’s some things that you need to tell me, Christian.’ And I said, yeah, ‘I know.’”
While Sutton insists she is “unbothered” and “unburdened,” Kathy Hilton and Jennifer aren’t fully convinced.
“I think she misses him,” Kathy, 66, said.
“I don’t think he will ever love anybody as much as he loved Sutton and still does love Sutton,” Jennifer added.
Sutton shut that down quickly.
“No, no, no. I don’t miss him,” she said, explaining that her focus is on her children, not rekindling a romance.
Looking back, Sutton reflected on knowing Christian since she was 13 and experiencing a passionate love that ultimately burned out.
“Passionate love can be equally as impassioned when it breaks,” she said.
