“Love Is Blind” season 10 is delivering plenty of pod drama — and now Jessica Barrett is opening up about what viewers didn’t see.
In an interview with Swooon, Jessica revealed that one of her first questions in the pods was political. “Something I always ask very, very early on, and have gotten s**t for asking it so early on, is, ‘Did you vote for Trump? Are you a Trump supporter?’” Jessica said. “That is something that has been steadfast for me. I just know how I feel about human rights and the things that are important to me. I can’t control if people told the truth or not.”
Jessica ultimately got engaged to Chris Fusco in the pods. But once cameras followed them back to Ohio, she says tensions surfaced — including conversations that didn’t fully make the edit.
Jessica Barrett Says Chris Fusco Called Her ‘So Liberal’ on ‘Love Is Blind’
Reflecting on her time in the pods, Jessica told Swooon she believes Chris adapted his personality depending on who he was talking to.
“I think that Chris was really good at saying what he thought people wanted to hear,” Jessica said. “I think that that really is exemplified when you look at the way that he spoke to me versus the way that he spoke to Bri [McNees]. It’s almost like two completely different personalities.”
Jessica added that she felt “a little bamboozled.”
According to Jessica, their relationship took a sharp turn when Chris admitted he was not physically attracted to her and was thinking about Bri. But she says that conversation included more than viewers saw.
“There was a lot of it that felt like [he was] grasping at straws,” Jessica explained. “Prior to that, he had kind of mentioned a lot of unrelated things, like, ‘Well, you’re so liberal.’ And I was like, ‘Well, yeah, that’s like, all I talked about. What are you talking about? You agreed with everything I said.’ It felt like he was just looking for something and then landed on the whole physical thing.”
Jessica said once she decided she was done, she was done. “When I said, ‘I’m going to go home,’ I took my mic off and left. There was no other conversation,” she said. “In my mind, I was like, ‘Oh, I could never be with this person. I want nothing to do with you.’”

As episodes continued to drop, Chris became a controversial figure among viewers. In addition to his breakup with Jessica, a woman named Marta Stelmaszyk took to TikTok claiming she dated Chris before and after filming.
Marta later appeared on Reality Steve’s podcast, where she played a voicemail she alleged Chris left her. In the recording, a male voice says, “I just spend $900 at dinner tonight… Call me back when you want. Go fuck yourself. You might be blocked, I don’t know.”
She also shared a recording of a conversation in which she was allegedly told, “I hope they’re a doctor, I hope they make a lot of money because that’s your only hope in life.”
Jessica, who was previously divorced, said she entered the experiment in a strong place. “I had essentially decided that if that was the rest of my life, I’m good,” she told Swooon. “I needed them to really bring a thought to the table.”
“Love Is Blind” season 10 episodes 1-11 are now streaming on Netflix.
