Kandi Burruss is opening up about the moment she knew her marriage to Todd Tucker was over.
During the February 22 episode of “Watch What Happens Live,” the former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star shared new details about her November divorce filing after 11 years of marriage.
“It happened in July,” Kandi told Andy Cohen. “In July was when I was like, ‘Oh, yeah. No, I can’t do this no more.’ ”
When Andy asked whether there was a specific moment that led to her decision, Kandi confirmed there was.
“Yeah, it was a specific situation that happened,” she said, before adding, “I’m not talking about it on ‘Watch What Happens.’ ”
Kandi Burruss Says Co-Parenting With Todd Tucker Is the Priority
Although Kandi declined to elaborate on the incident, she spoke positively about where she and Todd stand today. The former couple share two children together, son Ace, 9, and daughter Blaze, 6. Kandi is also mom to Riley, 23, and Todd is dad to Kaela, 29, from previous relationships.
“For the most part, even if we argue, we still try to be nice to each other,” Kandi explained. “We’re co-parenting. Last night, we went to my son’s basketball game. So, we were there sitting right next to each other. I’m sure people was like, ‘Uh…’ ”
She added, “But I feel like once we’re done with this, I really feel that we will be able to be great co-parents, because our ultimate goal is to make sure that all of our kids are happy and that they don’t feel the brunt of our drama.”
Kandi officially filed for divorce on November 21, 2025. In a statement to People at the time, she said, “After deep thought and a lot of prayer, I’ve made the decision to move forward with a divorce.”
She continued, “This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect.”
Former RHOA Star Addresses Prenup Rumors and Mama Joyce Reaction
Kandi also addressed speculation about Todd’s recent court filing related to their prenuptial agreement, which viewers saw them sign during “Kandi’s Wedding.”
“He actually isn’t contesting. They threatened to contest it,” she clarified.
“They said that if we do not come to terms, that they feel that they have a way to contest it. So, I think that is the misunderstanding of the internet.”
She added that they have not had direct conversations about challenging the prenup.
As for her mother, Mama Joyce, who was vocal about disliking Todd during their time on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Kandi said she has been surprisingly calm.
“She’s been trying to not say too much,” Kandi shared, noting that outside opinions sometimes get in her mother’s head. “ ‘Ma, I don’t care.’ Because they don’t really know what’s happening between he and I.”
Kandi concluded that despite the split, they are doing their best to move forward respectfully.
“We’re doing our best to get along and get through this moment, because we honestly don’t have a lot that we’re disagreeing about.”
