Mary Cosby’s son, Robert Cosby Jr., is reportedly facing two new felony assault charges stemming from a 2024 incident involving his then-wife, Alexiana Smokoff.
According to reporting shared by Starcasm, Alexiana came forward about the alleged May 2024 altercation while Robert was in jail in November 2025 for an unrelated protective order violation. The 23-year-old had previously been arrested after allegedly going to the home of his ex-wife’s family. He was released from Salt Lake County Metro Jail on February 3.
Per the outlet, Alexiana told police that Robert became violent after she allegedly “flushed his drugs down the toilet.” She claimed he pushed her, “beat her about face and head, and kicked her in the stomach,” and also strangled her.

Alexiana reportedly provided photos to authorities when filing her report. A responding officer noted, “In the pictures, both eyes appear red and swollen, her left eye has a lump below the eyebrow, and there is a red mark visible on [Alexiana’s] neck.”
Felony aggravated assault and felony assault charges were filed on February 5, one day after Robert’s release from jail. A warrant was issued the same day. According to the report, he posted a $2,500 bond without being booked and has a hearing scheduled for next month.
Robert has previously spoken on “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” about his struggles with substance abuse. During the most recent reunion, Mary revealed that her son was incarcerated but said she had not yet visited him. She shared at the time that he was learning from his mistakes.
Earlier this year, TLC released “The Cult of the Real Housewife,” a documentary examining allegations of misconduct within Mary’s church, Faith Temple Pentecostal. Mary has denied those accusations.
As of now, neither Mary nor Robert has publicly addressed the new charges.
