With season 3 of “Tell Me Lies” on the way, fans are already looking ahead and wondering whether the messy, emotionally exhausting world of Baird College will return for a fourth season. Between Stephen and Lucy’s never-ending cycle and the friend group’s long-simmering betrayals, viewers are bracing for whatever chaos comes next — and hoping it won’t be the end.
“Tell Me Lies” follows a tight-knit college group whose relationships are defined by hookups, secrets, and deeply unhealthy dynamics. The series jumps between their college years and the present-day timeline surrounding Bree and Evan’s wedding, with Stephen and Lucy’s toxic on-again, off-again relationship anchoring the story. Season 2 ended with the couple back together, once again raising alarms across the internet.
The Hulu series is based on Carola Lovering’s novel of the same name, though by season 2 the show had already moved far beyond the book’s storyline. That creative freedom has left fans unsure where the story could realistically end.
Has ‘Tell Me Lies’ Been Renewed for Season 4?
As of now, “Tell Me Lies” has not been renewed for season 4. In an August 2025 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Tom Ellis — who plays Oliver and is married to creator Meaghan Oppenheimer — suggested season 3 was written as the final chapter.
“I think so, yeah,” Ellis said at the time. “I think Meaghan has written it to be the last season. For sure, yeah.”
That comment understandably worried fans, but it’s worth noting that the interview took place before production wrapped on season 3. Hulu currently lists episode 8 as the season 3 finale, not a series finale. Until Oppenheimer or Hulu makes an official announcement, the door remains technically open.
If the show does get picked up again, history offers a clue about timing. Season 2 premiered in September 2024, while season 3 arrived in January 2026. Based on that pattern, a potential season 4 would likely land in early 2027.
No casting decisions have been announced, but a renewal would likely bring back Grace Van Patten, Jackson White, Cat Missal, Branden Cook, Sonia Mena, Spencer House, and Alicia Crowder. As for newer faces like Costa D’Angelo and Iris Apatow, their futures likely depend on how season 3 wraps.
Until then, fans will be watching closely — and emotionally preparing for whatever Stephen and Lucy do next.
