Venita Aspen walking out of Madison LeCroy’s sleepover party on “Southern Charm” season 11, episode 7 looked like a classic Bravo rage-exit — fueled by Salley Carson, Craig Conover drama, and a whole lot of side-eye. But according to Venita, the truth was way more serious than viewers realized.
On the “Southern Charm” After Show, Venita revealed she wasn’t just annoyed… she was physically unwell and dealing with what she later learned was a kidney infection.
“For one, I was dying of a f—king kidney infection if you want the truth,” she told producers. “I’ll never forget that night. That was so bad.”
‘Southern Charm’ After Show: Venita Aspen Says She Was Seriously Sick
Venita explained that she had been dealing with intense pain for days before the sleepover at Madison’s new house. At the time, she believed it was stomach-related, but nothing she tried seemed to help.
“So, I had been struggling with pain, [with] what I was thinking was my stomach, for probably five days up until that moment,” she said. “And I did everything under the sun. I got an IV bag. I went to the doctor. I was taking a bunch of medicine.”
Venita said she attempted to power through filming, but things escalated quickly after the party. She shared that a producer picked her up once she left, and within hours she ended up in the hospital.
“At 1 a.m., learned I had a kidney infection,” she told Charley Manley on the After Show. “At 3 a.m., I walked from the hospital to Waffle House right after that, because I deserved a f—king treat.”
Honestly, if you’ve survived a kidney infection, you’ve earned the Waffle House pancakes and peace.

The health issue wasn’t shown onscreen, but viewers did see the argument that pushed Venita to walk out early. During Madison’s slumber party, Salley told the girls about getting friend-zoned by Craig.
“He was making me feel like my feelings were insane,” Salley said.
Venita didn’t exactly offer comfort. Instead, she fired back with the blunt response: “I told you. Sorry.”
“I just hate that you had to find out the hard way,” she added. “I’m not mad at you.”
Salley claimed Venita had “no reason to be” mad at her, which Venita immediately called “crazy” before getting up and leaving the sleepover.
Later, Venita explained why she was so upset beyond Craig-related drama.
“Salley has dismissed my feelings. She’s chosen a guy over me. She doesn’t hear me when I talk. I can’t even at this point,” she said.
Salley also vented about Venita on the After Show, saying, “I think Venita is being very immature. And I’m not putting up with Venita’s s—t anymore. I’m not. I can’t.”

One of the biggest revelations from Venita’s After Show comments was who she reached out to when she realized the situation was serious. Despite the argument, Venita said Salley was the first person she called.
“I walk out on Salley, and I’m screaming at her, and I’m like mad at her or whatever, but the first person I call when I realize I have to go to the hospital is Salley,” she admitted.
Molly O’Connell also weighed in and said Venita’s condition offered real context for why she reached her breaking point.
“And her being physically in pain probably made her mentally like, less able to deal with the f—kery of it all,” Molly said, calling the kidney infection a “very valid” reason for leaving early.
Where Venita Aspen and Salley Carson Stand Now
On the After Show, both women reflected on the fight with some distance. Venita admitted she had mixed emotions watching Salley get turned down by Craig.
“I was like equal parts happy and sad,” she said. “It was almost like, ‘Yeah, I won.’ But then it was like, ‘Damn, like my best friend liked him, and like here he goes doing exactly what I thought he would do.’”
Salley agreed it felt like an “I told you so” moment — but she wished Venita had handled it differently.
“When she saw the true colors of JT, I never once went to her house and said, ‘I told you. I told you so,’” Salley said, referring to Venita’s former complicated situation with Jarrett “JT” Thomas.
Salley added, “My biggest thing is I expect friends to treat me the way that I treat them. And then I get disappointed, because I don’t get it back.”
Venita defended her intentions, explaining she tends to go into protective mode in close friendships.
“I feel like when I make friends, and I’m like really close with them, I just kind of get this big sister like, ‘I wanna protect you from anything that seems bad,’” she said. “I also want them to just not go through BS if they don’t have to.”
Still, Salley admitted their dynamic has shifted.
“You’re not gonna be the person that I call to bitch about Craig to,” she said. “I know she’ll always be there, but it’s something that you never want your best friend to say to you.”
