Steven McBee Jr. is ending a tough year by sharing a hopeful message from his father, Steve McBee Sr., as the family continues to navigate life after his incarceration. The reality star posted a video update on Dec. 30, offering fans a glimpse into how the McBees are holding up while Steve Sr. serves a two-year sentence at a federal prison in Yankton, South Dakota.
The Missouri ranching patriarch, best known from “The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys,” began his sentence on Dec. 1. While fans have received updates before, Steven hinted this message could be the last one shared publicly in 2025. In the caption, he wrote, “2025 has been a year. But we’re looking forward to turning the page and better days ahead. Hope y’all have a great holiday season!”
Steven explained that he spoke with his dad the night before posting the video. “He wanted to make sure that we posted a video saying Merry Christmas to y’all, happy holidays, have a happy new year,” he shared.
Steven McBee Jr. Shares Update on Dad’s Prison Life and Family’s Next Chapter
During the update, Steven shared that Steve Sr. has been deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from fans. According to Steven, prison mail has been delayed by about a week, but his dad plans to respond to every letter he’s received. One note in particular stood out — a handwritten Christmas card from a child in Kansas that left Steven “misty-eyed.”
The letter, decorated with hearts dotted over the i’s, wished Steve Sr. well and sent holiday cheer. Steven said his dad was so touched that he taped the card to his locker door.
While Steven and his brothers Jesse McBee, Cole McBee, and Brayden McBee continue dealing with the emotional and financial fallout from their father’s 2024 conviction for federal crop insurance fraud, Steven is clearly trying to focus forward. Speaking to The Daily Dish at BravoCon 2025, he said he got an early jump on his New Year’s resolutions.
“I got an early start,” Steven said, noting fitness goals and a renewed commitment to family time. “Really just continue to pour into my family and continue to pour into quality time spent with them and see how this ride goes.”
Steven also teased that fans will see much more of the family’s struggle — and resilience — in season 3 of “The McBee Dynasty.” “So many highs and lows,” he promised. “We put it all out there.”

I feel no effing sympathy for this guy. What he has done and for his kids to have to recover the business because of his actions is really fucked up.
I hope they don’t allow him to ever run the business again. Yeah and I would do the same thing to my dad if he did this.
I truly don’t understand how people send support to steve Senior. He did a crime knowingly and intentionally, and he’s paying his debt. why does he need an out pouring of support? He had choices and he made the wrong one knowing full well this could be the consequence.
