Wendy Osefo isn’t backing down. Nearly two weeks after the Real Housewives of Potomac star and her husband, Eddie Osefo, were arrested on multiple fraud charges, Wendy’s attorney has filed court documents demanding that all charges be dropped — claiming her arrest was “illegal.”

Wendy Osefo Fights Back Against Fraud Charges

According to Us Weekly, Wendy’s lawyer submitted a motion on October 17 requesting the case be thrown out entirely, citing “defects in the charging document” and alleging that key evidence was obtained unlawfully. The filing also asks that “all admissions, statements, or confessions” be barred from court, as they were “unlawfully obtained.”

Her legal team didn’t stop there — they also demanded that any intercepted communications be suppressed, that the Osefos’ trial be separated from their co-defendants, and that prosecutors hand over witness lists, evidence, and information on any confidential informants involved.

In short? Wendy’s team is fighting every inch of this case.

The Osefos Speak Out After Their Arrest

The charges against Wendy and Eddie stem from an April 2024 home robbery. Prosecutors claim the couple reported items as stolen that they allegedly still had in their possession — accusations the couple flatly deny. Both were charged with insurance fraud, conspiracy fraud, and making false statements to police.

After being released on bail, Wendy and Eddie’s representative released a statement to Us Weekly saying, “Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Edward Osefo, are back home safely with their family and in good spirits… They respectfully ask for privacy as they focus on their family and the legal process ahead.”

Wendy later addressed the situation directly on Instagram, writing, “And through it all, GOD remains faithful. Thank you for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers for myself and most importantly my family during this time. We are forever grateful.”

Eddie, meanwhile, quoted Proverbs 3:5-6, posting, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
