“The Real Housewives of Orange County” are no strangers to wild accusations, but even longtime viewers were floored when the word “roofie” was thrown into the mix. During a season 19 dinner, Tamra Judge confronted Gretchen Rossi over an allegation that she had drugged her at the infamous “naked wasted” party in 2008. The claim resurfaced thanks to newbie Katie Ginella, who allegedly spread the rumor to SiriusXM host Kiki Monique.
Tamra stormed away from the table in tears after Gretchen appeared to side with Katie. Gina Kirschenheiter wondered if Tamra was “sloshed,” while Heather Dubrow tried (and failed) to calm the tension. Now Heather is breaking down what it was like to watch the drama unfold in real time—and why she found the whole thing confusing.
Heather Dubrow Admits She Had ‘No Context’
Heather told Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast that she was caught off guard by the fight, mostly because the infamous party in question happened years before she joined the show in 2012.
“We didn’t have the benefit of knowing what happened in that conversation. So you have to understand, I had no context,” Heather explained.
The actress said Tamra’s emotional reaction left her scrambling to piece things together. “When Tamra came back in the room, I was like, ‘What happened? I thought I skipped a chapter in the book. I had no idea what was going on,’” she recalled. “As a matter of fact, after I watched it, Gina texted me and was like, ‘Now do you understand what happened?’ I go, ‘I think so?’”
Fancy Pants Weighs In On Katie Ginella
Heather also used the opportunity to reflect on Katie’s role this season, admitting she wished the newbie had shown a different side of herself.
“And you know what the bummer is? Katie came in sort of hot on me last year, granted. But I was excited to get to know her and I think she is so beautiful, she obviously has a lovely family and a great relationship [with her husband, Matt Ginella],” Heather said.
“I wish she had leaned into all of that and just let us get to know her without the nonsense. That would have been so much better.”
Whether or not Katie sticks around for another season, it’s clear the “roofie” rumor left its mark on an already fractured cast dynamic. And for Heather, it was one dinner she’d rather forget.
