Scheana Shay Stands by The Valley’s Season 2Villain’

Shay recently addressed her continued support of Caperna despite mounting criticism from Bravo fans. During a recent interview, Shay directly responded to those who say she’s aligned with the wrong people.

“I know people say that I’m on the wrong side of history all of the time, and sometimes I do get it wrong. We all do,Shay said on her Sheananigans podcast.Janet, for example, you may say I’m on the wrong side of history, but if these are people who are proving to be loyal, good friends to me, then I don’t care what side of history I’m on.”

Shay added that she sees the harsh comments about Caperna on nearly every post:It’s like, if there’s one nice [comment], I’m shocked. At this point, it’s every single person, it’s like no one likes you.”

She also alluded to reaching out to Ariana Madix via text and addressed fan speculation about her distancing fromVanderpump Rulescastmate Lala Kent, noting that she’s still close with her despite fewer recent social media appearances together.

Janet Caperna Breaks Her Silence on Superfan Claims

Meanwhile, Caperna is setting the record straight. After being accused ofinfiltratingtheVanderpump Rulescast to land on reality TV, she told The Daily Dish she never moved to Los Angeles with that intention — though she openly admits to being a longtime Bravo fan.

“I have been a Bravo fan for years and it’s absolutely the reason I met Scheana,Caperna said.I don’t think of it as an insult… My mom and I have watched them together. It’s been a bonding thing for us.”

Caperna and Shay became friends in 2017 shortly after both went through divorces. We talked for hours and just kind of bonded,Caperna recalled on her podcast, This Side of the Hill. Still, she pushed back on rumors that she sought Shay out for fame, insistingthat isn’t true at all.”

Is Janet Too Involved in Her Co-Stars’ Lives on ‘The Valley’?

The drama escalated this season when Caperna inserted herself into a feud between Kristen Doute and Michelle Saniei. Fellow cast member Jesse Lally believes Caperna’s issue is that she’s too involved in everyone else’s drama.

“The thing about Janet, I think, the reaction from the crowd is, ‘What do we know about Janet and Jason? What made Jason choose the law? What is this story with Janet’s past marriage? Where did she come from?'” he noted on “Watch What Happens Live.” “All of those questions we don’t know the answers to because it’s just constant sort of involving yourself in other storylines instead of creating your own storyline. I think if there were these storylines, maybe there’d be some vulnerability with them.”

People are just reacting to her constantly trying to be involved in these dramatic situations.”

As backlash grows, Caperna made her Instagram private and admitted the hate has taken a toll. It’s gotten so dark and bad almost on a daily basis… threats and slurs and things, she said on her July 2 podcast episode. If you’re feeling so bothered byThe Valley’ that you’re using racial slurs and threatening people, reality TV is not for you.”

New episodes of “The Valley” air Tuesday nights on Bravo.
