Kyle Cooke Says He’s ‘Not the One Spewing Lies’ as Summer House Drama Escalates

Kyle Cooke is not holding back. In a new interview with Page Six, the Summer House star addressed the ongoing drama with his former castmate Hannah Berner, while also taking aim at Southern Charm’s Craig Conover and defending himself against allegations that he “rage-texted” Paige DeSorbo during Season 9.

“I’m not the one talking about Hannah—it’s the inverse,” Kyle said when asked why he and Hannah haven’t moved past their falling out. “I’m not the one out there spewing lies.”

He also clarified that he had once hoped to repair their friendship. “I hate having lingering issues with anyone in my life, and I always hoped for an opportunity to reconcile things with Hannah,” he claimed. “I don’t want any bad blood and wish her nothing but success.”

Kyle Cooke Accuses Craig Conover of Spreading ‘Misinformation’

But that wasn’t all. He also addressed his ongoing issues with the Southern Charm star, which reportedly stem from Craig investing in Spritz Society, a beverage brand that competes with Kyle’s company Loverboy. After Spritz Society announced it would be featured in an upcoming episode of Summer House, Kyle was quick to react.

“I mean, I’m the least surprised. I think the only press they’ve received in the last year has had my name on it—or the show,” he said. Kyle didn’t hold back, adding, “I think Craig just fed them a bunch of misinformation, which is what he does… It’s really just when integrity is compromised is when I have issue.”

As for the infamous text exchange with Paige that made headlines during Season 9, Kyle defended his actions, saying the messages were misunderstood. “I think ‘rage-texting’ is a little [bit] of a stretch because I was, like, kind of spitting facts,” he said. “I was just like, ‘I can’t believe this. Like, I’m so discouraged.’” He emphasized that the texts weren’t even about Paige directly: “They were not really geared toward her.”

He also responded to Paige’s on-screen reaction to being called “two-faced,” saying, “To be honest, I was so blindsided by Paige popping off… I was like, ‘Hey, I’m sorry.’ In the moment, I could not believe what I was hearing.”

Kyle and Hannah’s ‘Summer House’ Feud Goes Way Back

The tension between Kyle and Hannah didn’t start overnight. Their falling out dates back to Season 5 of Summer House, and their fractured friendship has only grown colder over time. Hannah, who joined the show in Season 3 and left after Season 5, was not invited to Kyle and Amanda Batula’s wedding and has since said she believes Kyle played a role in her departure.

Fans were reminded of their drama in Season 9, when Paige revealed Kyle had “rage-texted” her after Hannah mentioned him on a podcast. It was a surprising twist for newer viewers, but longtime fans know the history runs deep.

Their issues originally flared up in Season 4, when Kyle criticized Hannah and Paige’s more relaxed approach to house duties, accusing them of not pulling their weight. During one dinner, he called them “the giggly squad”—a comment that sparked laughs then, but led to the duo naming their now-successful podcast Giggly Squad.

Things got worse in Season 5, particularly after Hannah’s then-boyfriend Des Bishop made a joke about having sex in Kyle and Amanda’s bathroom. “They’re acting like I murdered someone,” Hannah told Us Weekly in April 2021. “When is sex on Summer House considered this disgusting thing?”

Kyle maintained that his issue was about how Hannah treated Amanda, but Hannah later offered her own explanation on the BFFs podcast in July 2024: “The truth is beef started ’cause I did an ad for Truly Seltzer, and I didn’t know that I, like, wasn’t allowed to.” She added, “It’s my show. It’s my drink. You can’t do that… It just becomes fighting over egos and screen time.”
