Anon pls. Lawyer here. Looked up the lawsuits against Katie and the original suit in Georgia doesn’t appear to be available (maybe bc it was filed back in 2016). The subsequent suit to enforce the judgment in Florida (in 2020) was closed.
At least in the clip, the women are talking about how “the police” described the incident, but based on what I’ve found they’re actually talking about what the other party said in his complaint, which is completely different than an objective police report. We’ll see what happens when full reunion airs and I’ll keep looking for original report. But so far nothing suggests she is not telling the truth.

Katie’s response didn’t make any sense though. How was she found guilty (her words because she didn’t show up to court) if she didn’t do anything? What would she have been charged with? Also…she said she was in a ‘facility’ when the papers were served. Psych ward? Rehab? Jail? Cult? None of this makes sense and I think that’s what Heather was getting at. Something is definitely up here.

B, she was in a shelter. She said it without saying it. She wasn’t in a cult. Come on, she had no where to go when she was divorcing the man.
I don’t believe Katie. The guy she chased (not the police) sued her and won. He must’ve had good evidence. Why didn’t she appeal? She just seems to always have a “story” for why she’s not in the wrong. Deny, deny, deny, lol, like most OC housewives, so she’s perfect for the show!! Haha I find her dull most of the time though.

Attorney here – The facility she was likely in, and I get her not wanting to say, was likely a domestic violence shelter. This happens frequently when women leave their husbands. She said her her parents didn’t support this decision and this may have been the only place she could go. Everything she said made sense, to someone who works in the legal system, which Emily should have known. I liken Emily but if she “did her research” she also would have known it was a complaint in which you can tell your version of the facts (regardless of how factual they are). It wouldn’t shock me at all if this guy embellished the truth OR the police lied in GA to cover for a man (though it’s likely the former). Emily works with the innocence project – police can get it wrong all the time…
She could’ve been in a homeless shelter or a battered wife shelter…we don’t know but it seems that at a time of struggle she didn’t have the support of her family and I think it was a heavy handed response to Katie’s paparazzi pics
I would imagine she was found guilty bc she never appeared in court. Also, if she was in a DV shelter, you can’t disclose that information for obvious reasons.
