Regarding the new reality shoe based in Arkansas…I’m here for shareholders week and while at dinner on Tuesday I was seated next to a crew talking about the logistics of production. A reality show here would be amazing. This town is in the middle of nowhere, but thinks it’s the Hamptons with the boutiques and restaurants.
No names. Just a lot potential filming locations. They definitely mentioned the filming at the Bentonville airport. Which makes sense since that’s where everyone’s pj’s fly into.
Yea I live in Northwest Arkansas and I don’t think anybody considers us “the Hamptons but with restaurants and boutiques” lol. We are all these towns/cities close together. Retirement/golf/lakes at the top, business/shopping/family in the middle, college town/more vibrant/expensive at the bottom. The company that just bought 2700 acres (real estate development company under the Walton family umbrella) want to make this the Aspen of mountain biking but the infrastructure study won’t be done until 2025. Obviously there are elite families and groups here but it’s referring to it as “the Hamptons” that makes me chuckle. The statement “money talks but wealth whispers” is very very true for this area.
Bentonville airport is even smaller than Charleston and there’s nowhere to hide! Bentonville and the surrounding area is nice, but there’s not much there and almost everything within 5 miles of Walmart HQ and branded as such, so this will be interesting for production. I’ve spent time there and honestly, I’m not so sure any of the locals will be featured, sounds more like executive transplants working at Walmart or Tyson. Since most of the people I dealt with were from somewhere else. We’ll see, I’m up for it!
We don’t watch reality tv nor the housewives for relevancy. We want lavish lifestyles, locations, vacations.
For whatever reason this just made me think of that Bravo show ‘Sweet Home Oklahoma,’ anyone remember that? I watched several of the unsuccessful ones likeTimber Creek Lodge, Unanchored, etc.
