Yvonne Najor thought she knew how much drama unfolded at her wedding dinner — until she watched “In The City.”
The bride celebrated legally marrying Nick Barber with an elegant dinner during the June 30 episode. Instead, the night became the setting for arguments involving Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula, Lindsay Hubbard and Danielle Olivera, Eoin Heavey and Gavin Moseley.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like that on TV,” Yvonne told Bravo Insider in June.
Because the table seated around 16 people, Yvonne said she did not realize just how many separate arguments were happening.
“The table was so big, I think we had 16 people there,” she explained. “You can’t see everything. When I was in it, I feel like I was in a tennis match because I was in between Kyle and Lindsay. So I thought the whole left side of the table was silent. But [after watching it] I’m like, ‘Oh, people on the left side had an opinion too.’”
Yvonne Najor Says She Called Out Danielle Olivera’s Dress Even More
The dinner was especially meaningful to Yvonne because it marked her first major event after she was laid off from her longtime hospitality marketing job.
“That was really the first time that I kind of reconnected with the things that I’m really good at. Like, I put that entire event together,” she said. “I was back with a chef team, a beverage team. It was my wedding, but also reconnecting with myself and kind of getting back to the things that I love.”
Unfortunately, the evening did not go as planned.
“My expectations may have been a little different for what I thought the night was gonna be versus what it turned out to be,” she admitted.
One issue involved Danielle’s light pink dress, which appeared white to Yvonne. The bride revealed that viewers only saw a small portion of her reaction.
“I feel like I commented on the white dress probably like 20 times,” she said.
Yvonne explained that Danielle sent her a photo before the dinner and described the dress as light pink.
“Given her background in fashion, I trusted her description. When she arrived at the event, however, the dress was white,” Yvonne said.
She admitted that calling Danielle out in front of the group was not her best decision. However, she was also shocked when Danielle responded.
“I don’t think any host should ever call out their guest in front of everyone. That wasn’t my best moment. But then when she came back and called me a (expletive), I was like, ‘Woah!’”
The ‘In the City’ Star Admits She Was Too Hard on Longtime Friend Lindsay Hubbard
The dinner also created rare tension between Yvonne and Lindsay.
Yvonne said the longtime friends typically “do not fight,” but she became frustrated when Lindsay did not help stop the chaos around the table.
After watching the episode, Yvonne now sees the situation differently.
“Looking back at it, everyone was fighting, but in that moment, I wanted her to kind of help me get the group back together. You saw my reaction to that,” she said.
She added that the disagreement did not change their friendship.
“I think the best friendships are when you have to have those hard conversations, and you can work through them,” Yvonne explained.
She also acknowledged that she placed too much blame on Lindsay during the dinner.
“In that moment, I was so mad at her, but looking back at it and seeing everything play out, I’m like, ‘Oh, maybe I was a little too hard on her,’” she said. “Because she wasn’t the only person who was starting the fights.”
