Kyle Cooke is clapping back after fans questioned why he posed for photos with estranged wife Amanda Batula at the “In The City” season 1 premiere party in New York City.
The “Summer House” star addressed the backlash on his Instagram Story after viewers accused the former couple of faking their split following their red carpet appearance together. Kyle and Amanda announced in January that they were separating after four years of marriage, but they have continued to maintain a friendly relationship publicly.
“Yes, Amanda and I took a picture together. I was just happy she showed up,” Kyle said in the video. “She almost didn’t come to a show that she participated in. Shoot me. Shoot me.”
Kyle then pushed back harder against online criticism surrounding the situation.
“Don’t call my life, my relationship, my marriage, and the implosion of my marriage fake,” he continued. “Guys, with all due respect, we’re all adults here, and we all showed up to a premiere party. And yes, Amanda did not want to come. And I convinced her to come. We took a photo together. Grow the f–k up.”
Kyle Cooke Says He’s Trying to Take the ‘High Road’ With Amanda Batula
Kyle has been open in recent weeks about navigating his split from Amanda after she confirmed her romance with fellow “Summer House” star West Wilson.
During a May 11 appearance on the “Trading Secrets” podcast, Kyle explained why he has been trying to remain amicable with Amanda despite the headlines surrounding her new relationship.
“So I was already in the mindset, I just kind of want to take the high road. I still have so much love for Amanda,” he shared.
“Like, let’s just try to have an amicable split because we have so many friends on so many different shows, including our own, that had a pretty horrible breakup. And it took years just to be in the same room. You know what I mean?”
“And so I was already kind of trying to train myself to take the high road.”
Amanda and West confirmed their relationship in a joint Instagram statement on March 31 after weeks of speculation from fans online.

Shortly after Amanda and West confirmed their romance, Kyle spoke to NYC journalist Adam Glyn and admitted the situation had been difficult to process.
“I’m good, I’m actually really worried about Amanda, if I’m being honest,” Kyle said in a TikTok video posted April 1.
“I talked to her before their statement came out, she gave me a heads up, and I talked to her last night. I understand people have all sorts of opinions and I’m not justifying any kind of behavior, but from what I’m seeing she’s kind of getting cyber bullied.”
Kyle also shared concerns about the online reaction Amanda has faced since the relationship became public.
“Amanda knows that what she did was wrong,” he said. “And she’s trying to come to terms with it. But she is not well.”
When discussing West, Kyle did not hold back.
“All I know is West seems to be the kind of guy playing multiple women at the same time,” he claimed.
“He sent some half-assed text message,” Kyle added. “West is using the same charm he’s used on every other chick.”
Kyle also admitted the relationship timeline left him questioning parts of last summer.
“It definitely makes me second guess a lot of things last summer,” he shared. “At a minimum, just kind of how checked out she was.”
Meanwhile, Amanda and West previously explained in their joint statement that they wanted time to process things privately before speaking publicly about their relationship.
“It was never our intention to purposely hide anything,” the pair wrote. “Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.”
